Ah so it's just wonky lighting.
...We really need different lighting settings in the CC. I don't want another "ooh that's just right" then end up looking like my dude's never seen the sun in centuries ME incident >_>

This place jumped a bit. What I miss?
What did you miss? A name and a beautiful face. That's what you missed.
Her skin tone has not been lightened. In screencaps of the E3 trailer, she looks extremely dark because of the lighting. Her shot in the character reveal is taken in an sunny outdoor area that is much brighter.
Yes , it's the same for Dorian.
Depending on the lightning , his skintone seems really darker or lighter .
Nice to know that we got an official name to Scribbles now. Though I wonder if Varric will still give her the nickname "Scribbles."
Have to point out I adore her eye colour
Gonna read the interview now
LIARA'S MASS EFFECT 3 WRITER WROTE JOSEPHINE?
I LOVE LIARA
I can't.
I'm going to cry . Someone hold me.
*holds*
Feeling better now?
What did you miss? A beautiful name and a beautiful face. That's what you missed.
Fixt.
I'll say this about Josephine's writer: she is nowhere near as reserved as the other writers when it comes to talking about her character in the Q&A. The information came and it kept coming, including shockingly specific romance deets!
She looks far better than in the earlier shots. I love that she and the other advisors are being given as much time and effort as the companions.
Josephine~ ![]()
...you'll always be Scribbles to me though~
I totally called it as Josephine!
You cheated.
At least I can finally call her by her name now. Knowing it while everyone else didn't was torturous sometimes.
[BURSTS OUT LAUGHING]

Reveal? Check.
Interview? Check.

How can some one not know about her eye color? How can someone not look away?
Fun fact for people who have never met someone called Josephine: A common nickname is Josie, or Fifi.
Obviously there's no saying people will call her Fifi, but still.
In Spanish "Josephine" is "Josefina" and a common nickname is "Fina", which means "delicate". ![]()

Naaaaahhhhhh, nothing much!!
I just hope she has an Antivan/Spanish accent!
I am light skin myself but I was not implying anything regarding her skin being lighter making her more attractive. I was saying I liked her as a dark skin character but still thinks she looks beautiful as a light skin character.
Well she's still dark-skinned lesbihonest she just looks lighter and- nvm

Thank you very much for intervening early in the discussion Sheryl. I'm glad that Bioware has taken care to be sensitive about such matters.
(NB to OP: Possibly put this post at the start to explain the skin tone difference? I imagine that the images will probably be added to the inital post as well, and you know people don't tend to read every page - who could expect that?)
Also, judging by the music Allan, she IS ONE CLASSY LADY AND I AM SO FRACKIN HAPPY
Well I like her name a lot , it reminds me of a Tori Amos song called "Josephine."
Which I really really like.
I can see my Inquisitor humming "Not tonight , Josephine..."
I totally called it as Josephine!
I also imagined this being played:
To be honest, even before I learned her name was Josephine, I guessed that since it means "May God add/give increase", which seemed a perfect fit for someone who handles politics and trade. ![]()
