You say boring, I say subtle. I love games of intrigue and having a character who is a master of it is very, well, intriguing to me. The royal courts of the world, where words are as sharp as any blade.

From the little I know, Josephine seems to be the most boring character as of yet. There is just nothing that makes her stand out or interesting as a personality. Good-looking, freckles, noble, diplomat, planing, loyal, bla bla. Nothing that says "I absolutely want to get to know this character", no rough edges, nothing unique I know about her.
The fact that she has the same writer as Liara@ME 3 doesn't make it better -- I thought Liara was extremely bland in ME3. No can't say I remember any particular line of dialogue.
That's a highly subjective topic, so please don't state it as a fact. To me I find her normalcy to be really interesting because it's more believable and relatable. Some might agree, some might disagree, some might look at her from a completely different perspective.

I think, what's so interesting about Josephine is that she is like, you know, a normal Person. Well balanced, competent, that Stuff. Normally we just have Characters around us that are somehow special, edgy, have minor or major personal Problems... There is a Reason why Varric is so popular compared to all other da2 Characters: He isn't some deranged Person. He is actually well adjusted and stays that way. Josephine seems to steer into the same Direction and the fact that she isn't a Fighter for a Change only increases her Appeal.

I have to agree to this, its exaclty the point that she is a non combatend (not part of the 3 classes at least) and competent in politics is what makes her interesting. Also I think that she will have her adges, but all of them will be hidden behind the mask of a good diplomat.

Josie is an Antivan women full of secrets. We have to try our best for her to open up to us , get through her armor so to speak. She is likeable, level headed and probably knows how to have some fun in this grim and dark world, full of edgy stuff and demons. We are like covered in blood and guts of our enemies returning to Skyhold ( our Home ) and Josie is like reading diplomatic messages and reports while eating her favorite chocolate the " Shy Templar "and drinking wine , looking at us like " You need to washhhh yourself and don't even come close to me like this. Because i will throw that stinking Orlesian cheese at you. Why ? Because i can ."

As mush as I like this little scenario, I can't help but feel this would be more in character for Vivienne. (headcannon, I could be SO wrong) I don't think we'll have to get through her armor so much as pass her tests. Cassandra is someone who has her guard up and will refuse advances at first, but she will give in with patience and persistence (horrible cliché is horrible). Josephine on the other hand will not be hostile to advances, but will pose dilemmas and hypothetical scenarios and watch the results, allowing the Inquisitor closer for each test passed.
Yep, the lady is all about subtlety.

I agree,
Also to romance a advisor seems like a nice change of pace. Even more so on the info we have on josie seems to be a interesting dynamic if executed correctly.
for which i'm not worried since the budget is the same for every important character.

I think it was in the romance thread (can't remember), but one of the Devs said that the advisors will have 'keep banter'. Meaning they will walk around Skyhold and talk to each other and various NPCs. Gonna have some eavesdropping to do!

I think an LI option that isn't completely emotionally unstable is going to be an awesome change.
Don't get me wrong, Allistair, Lelianna, Isabela, etc., they're all great in their own way, but they just have so much baggage. Baggage ain't a bad thing, I mean we all have it, but it'll be nice not to have to deal with that in a relationship.
I mean, we're juggling the fates of every nation in Thedas in our hands. It'll be nice to have just one thing that's actually stable through it all, someone who can actually share our baggage rather than throwing so much of their own onto the pile

Josie is my opposite IRL, I'm totally and absolutely not a people's person. Also I usually don't make threats, but when I do I use my fists, not cheese ![]()

It will be nice to not have to play therapist for once. It just feels a little bit wrong to have so much influence on someone's psyche then get in bed with them... It's like we're taking advantage of them. I believe 'grooming' is the word for this sort of behavior. *shudder*

I love a politico. *That* is the kind of power I respect--the ability to sway others to your side. I love people who are willing to do the detail work and excel at it. Will I like her romance? I don't know, and she's coming in with a few handicaps. But the moment I read her description, I've had a sense she and my Inquisitor will be great pals.

I wonder what her first romance scene will be like ( I don't mean the sex scene, the romance scene where they talk about romance for the first time
)

I feel it's a given that there will be some sort of conflict in her romance. Mainly because this is a game and a story and as such there should probably be some conflict there, something for the player to overcome in order for it to feel like an accomplishment. In real life it's obviously a far healthier ground to start a relationship without first having to help them get over their dead wife or past abuse or whatever, but in a game it might just come across as a tad boring.
I do think she'll still be relatively normal in comparison to past love interests.

I'm curious about that too. Will she blush and stammer? Or will she be confident and playful? I can see her interpreting the first flirtations as harmless fun, but see the situation evolve into something else and confront the Inquisitor about it. Not too directly, but something along the lines of: The words we repeat the most are either absolute truths or entire falsehoods.

I imagine there will be conflict, yes, but like you said, it isn't going to be anything too crazy.

She hits me as the kind of person who won't be shy but won't be confident either. I think the line I bolded is quite accurate in her case (from my point of view). I also think that once you begin the relationship she's actually going to act like she's in one and won't be continuously coy and that sort.

I still say we'll have to save her from an assassination ploy. She's our chief ambassador. Of course she's going to be targeted. Her having no combat skills would make her a candidate for a classic 'damsel in distress' scenario. Not exactly a staple with Bioware.

I'd enjoy that kind of mission.
When I say nothing too crazy, I mean, like, no dead parents or jerk pirate slavers hunting her down, or betrayed by once-friend/(lover???) and tortured and crap. Like we've seen with others

I agree.
As a diplomat, I expect she'd have no obvious rough edges. She's smooth like a polished stone. She lacks obvious conflict or drama. There's little that seems extreme or out of the ordinary. She isn't a cunning assassin, a powerful warrior, or a flashy mage.
There's a humdrumness to her.

Traits, like her sexy accent and alleged adorableness, will probably only be properly conveyed when we actually see her in action.
