I agree ruthless doesn't fit, but her character should be consistent with a capable diplomat. She shouldn't turn into a stammering or worshipful fool around the Inquisitor, for instance.

I dislike it when characters seem to exist just to make the player feel awesome.

Sten calling me Kaden was cool because he didn't gush all over me.

Ruthless means you lack compassion and are willing to do things that bring harm to others if it serves your goals.

You don't see this as being somewhat incompatible with seeking peace and compromise? There's no dissonance there at all?

There's a certain friction, which is why I think it has the potential to be a good story  But there's no contradiction.

She's presumably successfully navigated Antivan politics, which seems difficult to do without getting your hands dirty, or at least arranging for others to get theirs dirty.

You must love Morrigan, then. I can't think of a single moment when she tries to make the PC feel awesome about themselves hehe.

I get the impression that people that don't agree with Josephine eventually find themselves agreeing with her without exactly knowing what just happened. Given that her writer said she can run on little sleep, she prefers to verbally lay siege instead of laying actual siege to her opponents.

And yet I followed her through a magical mirror to parts unknown after she did everything to stab me In the heart except actually stabbing me in the heart...ah where are you my Warden...

Josie strikes me as being quite skilled in political intrigue, obviously, but also being really... fascinated by it? Like, she lights up when it comes up in conversation.

I'm hoping that Scribbles accompanies us on a mission to Orlais. Preferably something to do with the "Grand Game" and political maneuvering among the Orlesian aristocracy.

We saw evidence in the E3 trailer that Cullen and Leliana tag along with the Inquisition at some point, so it stands to reason that Josephine might venture out of Skyhold every now and then.

I would love that. She has such a silver tongue that people change their views to agree with her suggestions without even realizing it.

She's the Obi-wan Kenobi of Thedas.

Completley off topic, but your signature has a slight grammatical error. If you wanted to say, "Greetings, Lord Night," which is what I assume you take "Ave Dominus Nox" to mean, it should read "Ave Domine Nox." When you address someone in Latin and call out their name, you have to use the vocative case (dominus is the nominative).

---end of tangent---

I think the Orlais subplot would be the one she is best suited for.

I can see her also tagging along when we go get acquainted or established with the various factions. She is our ambassador afterall.

Which location do you all think this is? Halamshiral? The Orlais portion of the game is shaping up to be the best for a number of reasons:

  • Almost 100% certain that is where we encounter Morrigan for the first time (since she is Empress Celene's arcane adviser).
  • Scribbles will probably accompany us there on the odd mission or two.
  • Fancy Orlesian masks and clothing. What's not to like about that?
  • Participating in the Grand Game (puts me in mind of Raymond Feist's Empire trilogy and the "Great Game of Council." Bioware must have taken a bit of inspiration from that.
  • Sandal and Bodahn also said that they were headed for the Orlesian court.
  • Mark of the Assassin was my favorite part of DA 2, and this will surely be much more epic than that.

Halamshiral I think. I'm still hoping for Val Royeaux to be in the game. It says we will find Sera in the streets of Orlais...Well, streets=City and the city of Orlais=Val Royeaux?
