And even then that was when the lyrium really started to get to her. Before that, she had completely reasonable arguments.
Her arguments were reasonable... but not reasonable for the actions she was taking.

I'm thinking of romancing her with a reluctant Inquisitor. She will do the job, but she hates being so out of control of her life and feeling like the ground could collapse from under her at any moment. Josie will provide stability.
Eep! That sounds like it will make a really interesting story arc-- as well as a romance arc. ![]()
Hi Bird, Josephine seems good so far, just afraid her romance will always be inferior compared to companion romances
As has been said before: the advisors have the same writing budget as the companions. The advisors also have banter within SKyhold. They will be just as fleshed out, provided you take the time to sneak around and eavesdrop. ![]()
I wouldn't say that. He did side against Meredith in the end because she went too flipping far. And he was having doubts before that. Now, Meredith? That was a zealot!
Zealots have dimensions like anyone else. Except for some of the mentally ill, like Meredith.
As for my Inquisitor, I don't think we'd get along too badly... unless she had some issue with the Dalish, of course. Which seems unlikely. I doubt I'll romance her, but I haven't sensed anything bad about her.
That is true. I suppose I'm so used to 'zealots' in all the media I've personally been exposed to just being, um, completely off their head about what they're zealots over without any reason, that I consider that a zealot more than people who are struggling with extreme views after being tortured and the like.
I don't believe I've ever asked about your Inquisitor's personality, do you mind if I do? I really love hearing about other people's planned characters. ![]()
I always thought he turned against Meredith mostly cos he knew fighting Hawke was a certain death sentence rather then it being her extreme behaviour.
He talks about how that's not how the order is supposed to be, so while admittedly late, he turned on her because she pushed him past the point he could push aside his doubts and believe in her. The Cullen thread is always very friendly and discussion seems always welcome there if you're interested. ![]()
Should probably get back to Josie, though. Haha. ![]()

Time to repost a PM I made:
On the plus side, I came up with a background for my Dalish Inquisitor. I fully expect it to be rendered unusable, but on the offchance it's not, I like it. It basically has me being the younger daughter of Danyla from Zathrian's clan, and one who competed to reach the position of First... but was only about 13 at the time and wound up losing to Lanaya. I can see my Inquisitor, Eiria, being angry by that, but learning from the experience that all elves are worth preserving, not just those with Dalish blood. However, she wound up going to another clan that needed more mages right before the werewolf attack, and only heard about everything that happened there from afar, including her older sister trying to hunt down Danyla's killer in Kirkwall. Additionally, I see her finding love with a Circle runaway mage (possibly one of the two options for the mage PC in DAO) who later got killed by templars.
I think you've probably seen LobselVith talk about his planned, uber-traditional Dalish Inquisitor? Mine might have similar goals, but isn't so tied to specific means; she wants elven emancipation, but realizes that the Dalish are not the elves of Arlathan, and that any attempts to fully reconstruct (as opposed to learn from) the past are futile; as such, she's an avid seeker of mystical lore in all places, anything that might give the elves an edge over their myriad foes; however, as she winds up as head of the Inquisition somehow, she'll likely grow to become more politically outspoken.
Unlike Mahariel, who was only ever cautious towards the Chantry, Eiria always saw it as a likely foe and will be reluctant to join up with Cassandra and her crew at first, but will accept if she's put in charge. Assuming I use my Leliana romance save, Eiria would likely be quite surprised by Leliana's past relationship, but it might also be somewhat reassuring.
The name was never mentioned in Origins. In the The Dark Is Rising book series by Susan Cooper (rather good YA series from several decades ago), there's a magic crystal sword called Eirias, a Welsh word meaning something like "blaze" or "glow" (online translators don't have Welsh in them too often, sadly). I figured it'd be a better fit than the Hebrew-derived Lilith, a name I attached to my Surana.
She values Dalish culture, but is willing to bend or break some of their rules if she finds it necessary or useful; i.e. her willingness to practice necromancy in defiance of the Dalish taboo against dealing with spirits. If anything, her end goal is something akin to what Hahren Paival mentioned in passing in the Dalish origin, about a time when the Dalish and city elves would band together and build something even greater than Arlathan. She also believes that the Quickening phenomenon needs to be studied, if possible, and a goal that few would consider likely is her desire to somehow find the prison of the Creators. But really, learning anything about the origins of the world or the Beyond or whatever would be helpful--learning anything at all about the distant past is, really.
Of course, the biggest question of all is whether to choose Sera, a fellow elf and a semi-representative of the city elves whose desire to uplift the downtrodden dovetails nicely with a lot of Eiria's own, or Vivienne, who... oh, wait, that wasn't such a big question at all when I put it like that. I've been trapped by my own logic despite my rather stronger physical attraction to Vivienne and that weird sense of intuition. I guess we'll have to see.
I'm depressed --- I need some more Scribbles art to cheer me up :<

I'll write some more banters later today. Would that do? ![]()

Spoiler
Ah! She sounds so interesting! I like your background for her, and I hope the exact details of the Dalish Inquisitor's origin are open enough that you can use it. I think she'll make a wonderfully interesting playthrough because of her views and goals too. Here's hoping Sera's (or Vivienne's, if she is an option and you chose her) romance fit nicely with her story. ![]()

Anything that'd make me giggle, that would be great :<
I already talked a bit about a possible Josephine inquisitor. Human female. Enjoys playing the game of politics. Vengeance is a sucker's game. I think she'll have a mild status quo bias: Celene, pro-templar. She's interested in long-term prosperity and well-being--that's her duty as a Trevalyn--not in advancing any agendas.
Now her male alter ego is a different story.
The current status quo, as chosen by the Chantry, is mage freedom, mind.

Ok, here's a quick something I put together (instead of working...)
The Inquisitor returns to Skyhold, obviously in a bad mood and storming upstairs.
Cullen: Inquisitor, I need to talk to you about...
Inquisitor: Not now!
*further*
Leliana: Inquisitor, our spies have reported...
Inquisitor: Not now! *slams door* Where is Lady Montilyet?
Random Guard: Uh, in the library, your eminence.
Inquisitor: Good! *storms off*
*enters the library*
Inquisitor: *imploring tone* Josie, can you help me? My hair is stuck in my helmet strap.
Josephine: Oh, of course dear.
*later*
Leliana: And then they started making out right on the table.
Cullen: *sigh* It’s the third time this week!
Leliana: I’ll alert the cleaning crew.
Cullen: Please!
I just have a gut feeling about this. "you can oppose chantry" sounds like "decisions matter" in ME3.
More like "you can roleplay against the Alliance". Yeah, right. I have some concerns about that as well.

To be fair, I don't think Bioware actually said that about ME3.

They did. In exactly these words.

Maybe it got cut. Either way, they have more time for DAI.

I actually laughed! That was great.

I do hope we actually get scenes like this in the game.
Ok, one more:
Inquisitor: Varric! If I catch you writing stuff about me and Josephine again, I swear I'll wax your chest!
Cassandra: Wax his chest? What do you mean?
Josephine: You pour hot wax over a hairy area and let it cool. When it is hard, you pull it off and the hair comes with it.
Cassandra: ... So it is a method of torture?
Josephine: Oh, it's something women and some men in Antiva and Orlais do in an effort to achieve an ideal of beauty.
Inquisitor: So yes. It is a method of torture.
