Indeed. I'm interested in learning about Antiva both because she is a woman and she is not from the Crows. Two completely new viewpoints of the country in one person.

Wait do they have a certain view of women in thier culure?

I wonder if she had Antivian ideas on the proper way for a woman to behave.

Indeed. From the wiki:

Women have strictly defined roles in Antiva. They are considered pure and delicate and not allowed to participate in combat, among other things.[21] However it's fairer to say this is an Antivan ideal of femininity which does not always match up well with the reality.[22]

Do you mean does she follow the ways they are or has ideas on how it can change?

If she sees combat as inappropriately masculine.

Or not have them at all since American is a nationality not a race/ethnic[Only native Americans]

There is a big debate here. Because race is color and ethnicity is origin/culture. It would be nice if you had the race check list, and then a fill in the blank for ethnicity.

Well, she does prefer diplomatic solutions over violent ones. Up to the point where she and Cullen can get at each other apparently.

Or once again dont have em at all, lol I get tired of checking a bunch of boxs like pac-man eating ghost. Or have American or non American. But I understand ones culutre or color represent themselves or is a part of who they are. Majority of americans by my knowdlege cannot tell em part or get them mixed up or dont even know what ethncity mean

The 2010 Census form has 15 options for race. 3 of them are "Other..." categories with a text box to fill in. In fact, I can find an "Other..." category with text box in forms going back to 1990.

That doesn't tell me whether she consider combat inappropriately masculine.

If the PC is a female warrior, will she comment on that?

That would be interesting. Reminds me of Oriana Cousland commenting on it.

I was thinking of an interesting potential aspect of her romance arc, what if because she's so use to being around political people and always expecting them to have alternative motives that she doesn't actually believe that the Inquisitor loves her? What if she thinks the only reason the Inquisitor is acting like he wants a relationship is to get on her good side and try to manipulate her into doing things politically for him or her?

It would be rather fun trying to convince her that your inquisitor does truly care about her and it isn't to gain some kind of political edge.

I hope she will mention it if she does follow those traditional values, I love the little moments of culture clash between two party members from different backgrounds, it makes the world feel a lot more immersive.

Plus it would be adorable for a scene where Scribbles is forced to use a sword and fails terribly with it.

I wasn't expecting to wake up to... whatever that one picture was.

But since it's been said that Josephine's skin colour is actually darker than in the screenshots we got of her, it makes me wonder why they would even show her in that light. It just seems like a bad marketing move, because when fans see her 'true colour', some are going to be disappointed.
The pictures we have of her raise certain expectations. I've had conversations with people who where extremely disappointed that she seemed 'whitewashed'. Now, I mean that in comparison to her appearance in the War Room screenshot. Other people were overjoyed with the way she looks, but will be disappointed once BW decides to release other pictures of her in a different area.

Now, do bear in mind that I'm not talking about racism here. People liking or disliking how a character looks are not immediately racist.
But yeah, I'm just wondering why the marketing team would release such screenshots of her when they should've known this area was dealing with the kind of lighting that's been pointed out by the devs. And if they didn't know, that just seems like bad communication.

I hope not. I pretty of tired of hearing that sort of comment in regards to anything - in games and real life.

The only character I can recall making the comment in DA was Sten.  But that's because Qunari are weird.

I'd think she might comment on the cultural difference, but not in a condemnatory way
