German composers will write operas about you, where you are voiced by an alto castrato.

This does make me wonder...does Antiva perhaps produce large numbers of castrati for the Andrastian chantry choirs?

If so, I bet the Crows control the trade...

I don't think so. I think it would be hard for the sound team to replicate a sound no one has heard in almost 200 years. There is only handful of recordings of a castrati and their voices have aged because they were one last ones before it become illegal to make one in 1870. I guess they could make a pants role that is what opera did when they started dropping like flies.

They could just use a female soprano. That's what they did for the movie Farinelli, at least in part.

Or they could hire this guy:

I suspect that's Josephine.

Indira Varma on GoT. She was also in the excellent HBO's Rome, a series I stopped watching five minutes after her character died.

That would be an interesting match! She's in Game of Thrones too, isn't she?

And as Maya in Mira Nair's  Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. Beautiful, beautiful movie.

So without ado...

I just had a horrible thought. (I'm not the first)

Josephine is the eldest daughter of a merchant prince. She understands the importance of making and maintaining alliances. What if she's married? What if she sees us as just a fling? My heart would break so hard.

I doubt this will be the case if she is to be the "adorable" romance.

I couldn't really see her as Celene, so... probably? There aren't many other major female roles we don't know the voices for, and I highly doubt they'd limit someone like her to a 'minor' role, a la Max Von Sydow in Skyrim.

She DOES have a lovely voice. Well-suited to a rather dignified yet "cute" character.

Never heard of her before. Given her background it would seem she would fit perfectly as Scribbles VA.

We just have to wait for someone to confirm this info and then we can have another crazy celebration.

Josephine is adorable. Her romance may not be.

Adorable people can break your heart.

"It is well that you defeated the terrible nug god that threatened the world. But alas, my dear Inquisitor, now I must return to my husband in Antiva. We will always have Skyhold."

Yeah, I'm trying to not get too excited with this in case she isn't the voice for Josephine but someone else.

As for you being a fling, the reason I doubt it is because of the understandable outrage that Bioware got for the Jacob romance. If dumping you for another person was bad, I can only imagine how bad you just being a fling while they are with someone else would be.

Fair point. Still, they're not known for happy endings. *huff*

I'm curious how 'first contact' is going to go with the group as a whole and Josie in particular. From what we've seen so far, it looks like Cassandra finds us, drags us back to the Skyhold and somehow talks/strongarms us into joining the Inquisition. It's a long way from 'sword in my face' to 'sure I'll help'.

Of course we have no idea yet how this will unfold. Missing pieces and all.

Being a fling is OK if it was never supposed to be more.

Though probably lots of people would be annoyed because previous Bioware games have taught them that an invitation for fun and frolics with a companion can always end up turning into a deep love affair.
