It'll be pretty interesting to have a diplomat on the team. Sure, Varric's been able to B.S. his way out of a few confrontations but for the most part the Party is there to beat the loot out of everything that isn't them. Combat is fun and is the main draw of the game, but it would be neat to be able to talk our way out of conflict. Think Deus Ex: Human Revolution's dialogue combat:

Maybe we'll get a Josie mini game?

*Inquisitor staring at their hand* : "I never asked for this" :P

Thank you! :) Can't wait for November 18th!

I do wonder, with the Inquisitor traveling a lot and Josephine most likely is staying at the Keep--would they exchange letters to each other? DA2 had that system with letters, would love for it to make a comeback in DAI and possibly enhanced a bit whenever you are in one of your encampments/castles you can build in the game. I am just madly dreaming of it happening!

I do wonder what kinds of letters the Inquisitor would send to Josephine.

Thanks! I think it is a very nice addition to stay in contact with the Advisors who are not with you. Then again, if travelling to the Keep can be made in an instant, it becomes pretty null. I hope that is not the case.

I do wonder what kinds of letters the Inquisitor would send to Josephine.

Ones sent by Napoleon Bonaparte to Josephine de Beauharnais comes to mind.

"My waking thoughts are all of thee. Your portrait and the remembrance of last night’s delirium have robbed my senses of repose. Sweet and incomparable Josephine, what an extraordinary influence you have over my heart. Are you vexed? Do I see you sad? Are you ill at ease? My soul is broken with grief, and there is no rest for your lover."

Wow, that has all sorts of potential for adorableness.

I'm suddenly reminded of this.

Wow, that has all sorts of potential for adorableness.

And comedy. I can imagine Sera or Varric trying to read over the Inquisitor's shoulder as they read/write a letter.

Sera *trying to peak*: So, what does your lady love have to say?

Inquisitor *holds letter to chest, hiding it* : Not much. We received new troops and supplies. The usual.

Sera: That's it? No 'I love you' or even 'I miss you?'Oh wait, you're lying.

Inquisitor: I am not! Read it for yourself! *hands over letter*

Sera *reading: it's just a report* : Well, she takes the joy out of getting mail, she does. *gives letter back and walks away*

Cassandra: Lady Montilyet is thoroughly professional, is she not?

Inquisitor: And clever. *takes out enveloppe, unfolds it and begins reading personal letter written on the inside*.

I'm not much for love letters, but their complex romantic relationship was intriguing. If you don't know it, you don't know the meaning of the letter or its depth.

It was in the late 1700's early 1800's. Standards were a bit different. :P

Nah, just more verbose (wordy). Writers were paid by the word/sentence! It explains so much about Victor Hugo.

Sullivan Ballou.  THAT guy can write a love letter.  Look up his work.  It'll bring a tear to your eye.

I'll look him up. James Joyce had a definite flair for letter writing too...

He isn't a writer per se but let's say some of the most beautiful things can crop up from one of the most horrific places one can ever be in-the battlefield.

I know, but still.... such a letter would actually feel disrespectful towards Josie as it'd sound like the Inquisitor is just making stuff up and not even writing 'from the heart', as they say.

I wouldn't go that far. To me it sounds more like a socially awkward person trying way too hard. Which is cute. :)

YES YES YES! I loved reading about Napoleon and Josephine's relationship. It was very emotional and troubling, but still so genuine. The letters are interesting to read and has some depth to it. Some reflected even his thoughts in the battlefield quite nicely.

As Chewin stated, you would have to read a bit on Napoleon to know the meaning behind the letter. Otherwise it is just nonsense for someone who doesn't know.

I suggest reading all the love letters and some books about Napoleon and Josephine. It clarifies a lot, b/c Napoleon knows what he is writing and it is not just nonsense.
