That would work. Odile can be a side villain or a tool. It all depends on how the person reads her character in the Third Act.

Sullivan Ballou. THAT guy can write a love letter. Look up his work. It'll bring a tear to your eye.
I think what makes that letter a tearjerker is not so much the sentiment expressed, but that he was killed a week later during the Battle of Bull Run. It's a beautiful letter of course, but it would have been forgotten if not for the tragedy associated with it.
