My guess is that she'll be the trade advisor. I'm not sure they'll have a female NPC to balance Cullen's romance. He might just be a 5th extra romance, like Sebastian was in DA2. If they do have a female NPC romance, I think it'll be her.
Also, about her nationality, my first impression was that she may be Antivan, but that's because I expected her to be a trade advisor and trade seems to be a big thing in Antiva.

That's a good point about Antiva. They do seem to be the ones who appreciate and rely on trade the most so would be a perfect choice to help keep the Inquisition's pockets full.

Just a thought, if she is Antivan. I wonder if she has any connection to the Felicisima Armada.

It's possible, but they don't have much of a structured leadership.
Reading further into the Antivan angle, I found this.
Women have strictly defined roles in Antiva. They are considered pure and delicate and not allowed to participate in combat, among other things.[12] However it's fairer to say this is an Antivan ideal of femininity which does not always match up well with the reality.[13]
So most likely this confirms Scribe Girl as a non-companion, but then again she can be one that is the exception to the rule.
We definitely know from Zevran that there are women in the Crows, at least. They don't even seem particularly phased at accepting them. I think Scribe Girl and Cullen's lack of equipped weapons in the concept art could have had something to do with them being NPCs, though, as I've seen speculated before. I find it especially unlikely that they'd have had her hold a scroll and quill if she was a combative type. The Antivan trade NPC concept sounds pretty interesting to me, anyway, though. I hope that will be her background.

Well, to be fair, this doesn't confirm anything. We have no idea if she is Antivan. She might be but she might not be and I'm not seeing any evidence either way. If she's Antivan, it still "confirms" nothing. Especially given that the quote indicates that it's "fairer to say that this.....does not always match up well with the reality", so she could very well still be combantant.
However, I'm of the mind that she's going to be an NPC, as well.
Well David Gaider did say that not everyone in the survey and the war room pic are companions, so Scribe girl is most likely an NPC
i... have no idea who she is.
and
THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!
I hope that she is at least an NPC serving for the Inquisition. As for LI, that would be a nice bonus in my opinion

I know. We are just hypothesizing that she may be one due to a few 'facts' we have of her. I looked and the only female Antivan we have met so far is Oriana Cousland, and 5 out of 6 Wardens don't ever meet her. And yeah, she may prove to be a combatant but so far we know she will at least be an NPC in the Inquisition, unless of course they wrote her out but I don't see why.
I really like her nose.
She looks Middle Eastern in that picture. Is there a region of Thedas that is meant to mimic the real world middle east?
also as much as I would like the last companion to be a women it dose look like she will play some other role in the Inquisition than a companion.
Off topic is that Elf in the background meant to be Solas or some other character? Since the elf in the picture has hair...

I guess Rivain is the closest

Most people think that this is the early conception on Solas. I think there is another piece where he looks similar with the hair, but he's bald in the rest.

Not particularly. Rivain however is known for having dark-skinned people, as seen with Duncan and Isabela, and Antiva has some as well, as seen with Zevran. But every nation has dark-skinned citizens in it.
Yes, that's believed to be an older design version of Solas.
Yeah, I'd take her for being Rivaini before anything else.

Now I definitely want her as a potential LI lol ![]()

Do we think that if she is an LI, it would make Vivienne out? I mean, if there are only 4 LIs, then obviously, yeah given that Cass is in. But, if there are 6 LIs, what are the odds that they would have three humans and two of them are dark-skinned Rivaini women?

Personally, I'm really hoping for her to be an Antivan now actually.

Her features are screaming Rivaini blood to me, but maybe she was raised in Antiva
