Boooo the first time I entered the code, it asked me to "please enter a proper code" even though I typed it right. The second time I typed it, it was already gone.

His boots echoed through the shadowy corridors of the Great Hall. Braden Trevelyn, a tall man of thirty years, moved with purpose through his newly acquired keep. There was much to contemplate, to consider before he made his next move. The hallway ended in a small balcony overlooking the courtyard and he stopped, unslinging the massive sword from his back and propping it up on the rail next to him. He peered over his crooked, and oft-broken, nose down into the gardens, his gaze drifting from one shrubbery to the next. Nodding to himself in satisfaction, he allowed himself to relax for a moment, gaze drifting to the skies, the starlight catching the greens and browns so many had fallen for. He chuckled softly to himself as his hands fell to hilt of the blade at his side. Morwenna. It was a gift from so long ago, the solitary blue gem in the hilt catching its own starlight. Braden let a long, slow sigh creep from his chest. The only woman he could trust to stick by his side. He wrapped his fingers around the soft leather grip and drew his blade. It only took a quick glance to know what he had to do. The etched blade, the symbol of his mission, was all too keen in reminding him what he stood for. The etching of the inquisition, a sun with an eye pierced through by a sword, glistened as a symbol in the moonlight. Satisfied, Braden placed her back into her scabbard, re-slung her to his back, and straightened his leathers. With a quick turn he hurried back toward the bowels of the keep, there was much to do before tomorrow. 

 

Braden walked down the dimly lit hall that led to his quarters. The day had been long and hard fought, and he was concerned about wha tomorrow might bring. He had heard Cullen already had a batch of fresh new recruits that would need training. Always good to show them your face good for morale Cullen always said. He sighed at the thought of another wet behind the ear soldier calling him Commander maker did he hate titles. After that he had meeting with Leliana to discuss what information her spies had uncovered around this region, there had been rumors of blood mages operating in the area before the inquisition took control of keep odds are they were still around they can’t be allowed to run amok amongst the populace.

 

An unexpected light ahead shook him from his thoughts; the door leading to the solar had been left ajar and a torch flickered on the nearby wall. Braden crept to the entrance and peered cautiously past the doorway, the room was well decorated with several plush couches and chairs, fine tapestries on the wall, and a custom crafted oak desk that still had papers scattered on top. What struck him hardest was the delicate, flowery scent permeating the lounge. He released a bemused sigh knowing full well what was about to transpire.The stones in the corridor squeaked as Braden turned sharply on his heels, moving swiftly to his quarters. As he approached his chamber the two guards acknowledged their leader and they smartly saluted. “Inquisitor.”They struck their chest with their gauntleted fists. Braden returned a lazy salute and through a smirk told them, “At ease.”

The familiar scent caught his nose and asked the senior of the two sentries, “Maytris, how long has she been waiting for me?”

 

“Arrived about fifteen minutes ago, Commander Trevelyan.” His reply was curt and quick to the point.Braden smiled and shook his head at the use of his title. “I’ve told you to just call me Braden. Commander is just something they decided to call me. It’s really not necessary.”

Maytris saluted again quickly, “Yes sir, Comma…Inquis…Braden.”

Braden couldn’t help but roll his eyes. Cullen trains them well. They would need it to stay alive, considering what they had to face out here. He saluted the guards, sharply this time, and stepped inside his quarters. 

 

He closed the door and glanced around his room. Large and lavish the previous occupant had a flair for decoration, the bed was giant and covered in many purple blankets and pillows. He smiled at that he enjoyed the color of purple a rich, powerful and beautiful color. On the walls hang a varietyof tapestries depicting so many different scenes that even his mind couldn't comprehend them all, Aside from that there was a desk, chairs as well as a fireplace. A fire burned in the fireplace and he unslung his Morweena from her place on his back and sat her down next to the door with the 

gentleness of a lover. Scribble scribble scribble he heard and turned toward the sound he saw a thin dark skinned woman sitting behind his desk her 

nose down as she worked on some sort of document. Her hair was dark, darker then her skin and rolled into a tight bun that sat atop her head.

 

Braden laughed to himself she hadn't even heard him enter so busy she was with her scribbling. "Josephine." He spoke. Scribble scribble scribble was hisreply, he rolled his eyes. "Hey Josephine did you want me for something?" He asked walking toward the desk as she ignored him yet again. "SCRIBBLES!I'm talking to you." He said finally losing his temper and slamming his palms on the desk. She stopped writing then and looked up at Braden, her eyes were dark and beautiful the kind of eyes you could lose yourself in. Maker damn those eyes, he thought to himself staring deeply into them. "My name is Josephine Inquisitor id appreciate it if you used it." Her voce was sultry and seductive dangerously so. "I am aware of your name Josie, my name is Braden so please stop calling me Inquisitor ok?" He was growing very weary of titles. She stared daggers at him and he signed. "Maker damn those eyes." He whispered to himself. "Ok Josephine." She smiled at the use of her name. "Why were you looking for me?" He asked trying to avoid her gaze. She smiled coyly at that. "Who said i was looking for you Braden?" She smiled even bigger. Bradens mouth dropped a little at that. "What do you mean?! Woman i could smell your perfume in the solar, the only reason that you would be there was if you were looking for me not to mention your in my bloody room!" He replied his temper flaring once again as she continued her little smile. "Relax i was only teasing i do enjoy when i get a rise out of you." She giggled and reached down into the small bag by her feet. "I came here to give you this." She held out a mask elegant and beautifully crafted, it had a purple half moon leading from the top of the eye down to cheek on the left side and on the right it had what looked like a red upside down triangle. 

 

"We will be heading into Orlais soon and you will need this. A bare face there even one as pretty as yours is considered gawky and lacking grace." Braden reached out and took the mask brushing her hand, her skin was soft and supple he noticed. He examined the mask taking note of its sturdiness. "Damn Orlesian fads you'd think they would start acting like normal people at some point." He sighed and sat the mask down the desk. "Your a brute Braden sometimes things require a more gentle touch then just a sword." She put her hand on his cheek and smiled, he allowed it for just a moment before turning away. "If theres nothing else Josie." He said as he started unstrapping and unbuttoning his leathers. She stared at him as he undressed unsure of what to say as she started toward the door. Braden pulled off his leather armor and cloth shirt exposing his bare upper body. "Josie." He said softly causing her to turn at the door and look at him, she noticed for the first time that the skin on his back was heavily scarred and knotted with thick muscle. "Thank you for the gift Josephine." He spoke neverturning to face her. "Your welcome Braden." She wanted to know so badly know who hurt him she wanted to comfort him but she knew at that moment he wasn't ready to tell her to accept comfort so she turned and left without another word spoken.
