I've been reading Josie's bio again. It says she's the eldest daughter of a noble Antivan family and that she's been a diplomat for years. Is she married? Unless her family considers her too valuable an asset to bargain away? Or maybe part of the reason she joins the Inquisition is to escape an arranged marriage? Speaking of that, is her family ok with her joining the Inquisition? Could that lead to trouble for us if they're not?
That would make an interesting character quest: her family has sent agents to get her back, possibly including a favorite relative of hers. We'll have to convince that relative to leave in peace because if we kill him/her Josie's going to be mad.
So many questions, so many flipping days until November 18th!
I kinda like the idea of Josie being a bit of a rebel...

One would presume they would try to get her back alive, since she's so talented at what she does. And it would be nice to see a side of Antiva that doesn't involve the Crows for once.

I highly doubt she is married. I don't think Bioware wants to go down that road.
As for her family being okay with her joining, with them being one of the merchant families I think they would endorse the idea of getting secured in a new powerful organization.

That's the problem though, isn't it? The Inquisition does not start strong. It's an upstart faction with very little support, hence the need for Josephine's help.

An upstart faction that'd probably make too many power grabs and growing too fast for them to be comfortable with (If I had my way at least)

Not to mention the freak (us) at the head of it. I imagine people will see the Inquisition as a joke, then as a threat/potential ally/tool. The potential for intrigue in this game makes me so hopeful...

Oh definitely. I have been a tad... hungry for a game that has some sort of focus on political intrigue. I'm fully aware that Inquisition probably won't have a -ton- of it but hopefully enough to sate me.
I just love the idea of turning an organization into something to respect/fear... Or both really. Especially if the leader is a tad shady (I mean, my first Inquisitor will be a Necromancer. I can't imagine that will win him a lot of 'trustworthy' points.)

The Assassin's Creed series was pretty good at mixing intrigue/politics with combat. If DAI manages something of that nature, I'll be a very happy camper.
I can imagine being a Necromancer would cause problems with pretty much every nation except Nevarra and Tevinter.
I wonder how my Artificer will be received...

Yeah, Assassin's Creed did a decent job but it didn't feel quite as... into it as I'd want it to be. Something only an RPG could really pull off in my opinion.
Artificer I can't help but imagine would be better received than someone who's messing with dead things. I'm a little curious of the companion reactions to getting the specialization. Cassandra might be fine with it if she sticks much to Nevarran ideals (I don't know much about her tbh) and Dorian might also be alright with it.
Others I'm not so sure. Blackwall being a Warden might recognize the ends justify the means.

I can see Sera being iffy about necromancy, considering her reaction to Cole. Varric too, maybe? Iron Bull doesn't like demons, so raising the dead might make him uncomfortable too.
I just want someone to lecture me about fiddling with my contraptions instead of training for a fight... Cassandra might do that. ![]()

Oh yes, that'd be great.
Still, it'd be fun to see their reactions. Especially if I can wave it off as "It needs to be done". Nothing quite like messing with things you probably shouldn't because you think you have to 8D Same way I justified my Wardens going Blood Mage.

I think they stated that none of the specializations will be reflected in dialogue, only class/race/gender. (It's one of the many reasons blood magic was removed as a spec.)

wait, I thought it was the other way around.. wasn't it that they removed blood magic because specs will be reflected in some dialogue?

She could be divorced or widowed, if marriage is a big deal. I don't think we've had a chance to romance a female widower yet...

Hmm, now i'm hoping she'll be married or engaged, some netori action would make the romance all the more juicy
It is difficult for me to articulate just how opposed I am to that idea without using profanity, so I'll simply say that I'm not interested at all.

I can't find the specific things that made me think that, so I'm not sure. But either way, there are compelling reasons to take blood magic out. If specs are reflected in dialogue, then blood magic would get the lion's share of attention and outweigh the plot relevance of any other spec. If they're not reflected in dialogue, it's hard to justify everybody ignoring that the Inquisitor is a maleficar.

Same here. That's why I played the Dwarf Noble origin so often and like it so much. I mean, obviously we can't stop what happened, but the atmosphere and what we can do before being exiled is always a lot of fun, imo. I'm really looking forward to that part of DAI and how the companions/advisors, especially Josephine and Sera, react to my decisions. I just have to stop myself from thinking of too many possibilities here, so I won't be disappointed if it doesn't end up as complex as I'm hoping it'd be. ![]()
