Do we think that if she is an LI, it would make Vivienne out?  I mean, if there are only 4 LIs, then obviously, yeah given that Cass is in.  But, if there are 6 LIs, what are the odds that they would have three humans and two of them are dark-skinned Rivaini women?

If Cullen is an NPC, I definitely see Scribe Girl as the most likely to be the female counterpart to that.

The odds are small, yes. Also, where is it stated Vivienne is Rivaini? Everything I've seen has her as Orlesian.

Her wiki, I believe, but if not I remember seeing it in one of her character updates.

I don't really know, but I think if they choose to make her an NPC LI then they'll mostly take Vivienne out

Unless Sera is younger than she looks

Most likely Orlesian of Riviani blood

Her features are screaming Rivaini blood to me, but maybe she was raised in Antiva

Possibly. They are right next door and have friendly relations with each other.

I looked, and nowhere on it does it say Rivain.

I'm pretty sure Sera is fairly young? She doesn't look old at all.

and either way, the chances of Vivienne being an LI are extremely low.

Most likely Orlesian of Riviani blood

That's possible.

Well yea, and if she is a potential LI then she'll most likely in her early 20s at best

I looked, and nowhere on it does it say Rivain.

It's also possible that she could've been transferred to the Orlesian Circle from Rivain

Yeah, I never saw Vivienne as being a love interest myself. Companion-wise, I always saw Cassandra, partially due to fan following, and Sera, because the elves have always been romancable, as the two they would have as LIs.

I saw. I don't know where the character updates are, so can't check. :(

She could be older than she looks due to being an elf. But I see her as most likely in mid twenties to maybe early thirties.

That is also a possible explanation.

My guess for fem LIs is just Cassandra and Sera, DA2 only had 2 female LIs as well and, well, considering there's only 3 non-male companions

I'm thinking the same as you, but with Scribe Girl as an NPC LI, as well.  If that were the case, and if they aren't all bisexual, then either Sera or Scribe Girl would more likely be the lesbian option.

I don't think they'd make the hetero LIs the NPC romances and Cullen wont be gay, so my best guess is that bisexuals will be NPC romances. It's the most "fair" choice. That is, if they actually do 2/2/2. I wouldn't be that surprised if they only have 5 LIs, like last time.

I imagine if we have more than four, they'll go for six. They may have done five in the past, but I don't see that repeating.

And, let's not forget that the vanilla game had 4.  Sebastian was a DLC.  I'm not saying that he doesn't count, but he's kind of a special case since he wasn't part of the original budget.

I think she would be the bi option in that case. Having the secretary character be lesbian twice in a row , the first being Samantha in ME3, is something I don't think they'd do.

Well, to be fair, if they really wanted to do something different with the "personal secretary" character, they would make her straight given that ME 2 had Kelly (bisexual) and ME 3 had Traynor (lesbian).  I'm not convinced that she's going to be a secretary.  I think she's going to be more of a mercantile/trade advisor.

Touche.  :D

By secretary, I just meant that slot of "organizes info and tells you important information" but you are right, she will be an adviser.

I don't see a reason why both NPC romances(assuming we'll even have two) need to be the same orientation.

It's just the most fair to everyone if the NPC romances were bisexual. Then it's not just one demographic stuck with only one companion romance.

That is if there are two NPC romances and they do the 2/2/2 structure, which are both assumptions. I hope they don't do 2/2/2 with NPC romances, personally.

But does it really matter if it's companion or NPC, as long as both have good content it doesn't bother at all if one of the NPCs was straight or gay

It's subjective, I guess. NPC romances aren't comparable, to me. Party banter, quest commentary, overall plot involvement, etc. There have been other threads about this, so I don't really want to type up paragraphs about it again. I don't see how it's possible for NPCs to be overall as fleshed out and plot relevant as companions, so I'm just not going to be as invested in them.

As Mort says, it makes the most sense if they are going the 2/2/2 route because then everybody despite orientation gets 2 LIs, 1 companion and 1 NPC.

That said, I prefer they stick with everyone available to everyone but if they go assigned sexualities this is the most fair.
