Or the title could just be a hold over from when it was first used. Maybe they keep it as 'prince' regardless of gender or maybe they say 'princess' if a woman is in charge. It's hard to tell at this point.

Supposing Josephine is in line to inherit the title, does she actually want it? Maybe she'd rather be the 'power behind the throne' as it were. Let someone else have the big target painted on them while she lives the good life. :D

I must say, I don't know if this is the influence of TES's Daedric Princes, but a woman with the title of prince just screams 100% BAMF to me.

And it is an interesting question. Her skills as a diplomat would certainly make for a good, or at least stable, ruler, even if it turns out she lacks natural leadership qualities. But, she does seem at least somewhat naive at this point. Perhaps she doesn't realise how dangerous it sounds like it can be being a prominent figure in Antiva.

I'm guessing it will depend on whether Leliana even met him. My Tabris cut his throat without bothering to wake him up.  I like to play characters with a short fuse...

You killed the Elf Antonio Banderas?  :o

She comes from the same country as the Crows. It's hard to believe she is all that naive. I could see her lacking decisiveness when push comes to shove. That's why my Inquisitor will be there to help her when everything goes to pot. A classic Brawn and Brain pair. Perfect!

To add to that, I'm curious about Cassandra meeting Hawke. With Varric teasing her about it. :D

The only reason I ever kept Zevran alive was to have someone show off that second set of drake scale armor. :D

Yeah, forgot about Cass :P.
I put him in the same, I think. With Leliana in that Shadow of the Empire (don't know if I get if right) Armour that as found in Orzammar.

Titles tend to default to the male title when generalizing instead of talking about a specific person, so I'm not sure. Merchant Princes to me suggests something closer to 19th century "princes" of industry (i.e. non-titled, but extremely wealthy and powerful from trade). I don't get the impression that the official crown and nobility in Antiva are all that powerful.

My impression of what little we know about these Merchant Princes reminded me somewhat of the maritime republics. I do not know much about them outside of what I've played in CK2 and I don't think women could inherit in those systems.

Didn't they say she knows how to be firm when the situation requires it?

I put Leliana in the Battle Dress of the Provocateur. It's from her DLC after all.

It sounds like a scene from Thedas' latest romcom... uh..... nope, can't think of a good name.

Didn't have her dlc. I bought Awakening, WK and RtO (plus Shale).

Yes, but that could mean that she refuses to back down but is not willing to push either. Basically, staying stuck in trying to maintain the status quo when a forceful approach would be more productive or at least less destructive.

Interesting interpretation. I guess we'll have to see when as play the game :).

I think naive was a bad word choice on my part. Maybe more idealistic? It's just her particular solution to the Venatori advisor and hoping that the King would 'see the light' seemed a bit idealistic.

I wonder if one of Josephine's personal quest has someone sending the Crows after her

We have little choice but to wait *sigh*. But I'm having a grand old time with this conversation. Her bio says that she is a traditionalist at least when it comes to fashion. Do you think this aspect is reflected in other parts of her personality? Like who gets which side of the bed...

Idealistic would definitely describe her. I had the same reaction to that line. 'Make him see the light'. Seriously? Leliana, send someone to shank the bastard.

I'm not sure. With the info we have it's too early to say if her preference of tradition in fashion will extend in othe traits (on this note, I want fashion banter at Skyhold between Dorian, Vivienne and Josie).

Short answer, we need more info about her :P.

1. I want Vivienne and Josie discussing whether a man's mustache should point up or down, with them disagreeing on it. While Dorian just sighs in exasperation.

2. YES! We need information! And screenshots! And videos! And somebody go harass the devs on Twitter!

True, but this is fantasy. They get to pick and choose what they use for inspiration, fortunately, and not be stuck with actual historical limitations. I frankly hope Josephine IS in line to inherit since I think it'll make for a much more interesting story and romance.

Semi-confirmed rumour: Josephine ninjamances the Inquisitor to become the "power behind the throne".

Mmh... Nah. Josie sucks at sneaking. And I want to see that 'adorable blush' I've been hearing about. Actually I'd really like to be able to drop an 'I love you' bomb on her and see her get all flustered...

Just wanted to say I look forward to meeting Josie.  She looks and sounds intriguing.  I'll romance her on my second playthrough after Cassandra.
