It will for me. I wouldn't be able to romance Leliana or Josephine anymore. 

 

Even if it was just sometime in the past, before DA:O? That seems a little...odd. 

 

For the record I don't much care for the idea either. But it wouldn't bother me if it was just some past thing, or a hookup if the Warden didn't romance Leliana and the Inquisitor Josephine.

While I don't personally think Leliana and Josie had an intimate relationship (due to Leliana's own backstory, unless it happens after DAO and in non-Romanced Leliana playthrough), it won't bother me.

 

I don't ship em either myself, I see them as good friends. However if they happened to have had some kind of dalliance in the past, it wouldn't bother me all that much. Lels is pretty hawt, wouldn't blame Josie.

If it was in the past there is absolutely no reason for the game to bring it up.

That'll be one way to make sure I don't visit Josephine while Lelianna's gone. That nug's squeaks drove me nuts (to the point I wanted to roast him as a dwarf snack).

Honestly it isn't something I'd worry about. We got nothing to suggest that sort of relationship. They are just called "Old friends" and honestly... Leliana may of had sex as part of her position as a bard but that's her job and for most of it she was with her mentor in a weird manner.

If you bring two characters together and they have history, said history will most definitely impact their relationship. Leliana and Josephine having been romantically involved seems like too important to be glossed over, as such involvements always affect the relationship between two people.

Kallen romanced Leliana. She clearly stated in the game she's Not a Virgin. Garrus clearly stated he's Not one in ME2 too. Same for Isabela, who I think Kallen tried to romance.

Some people are just uncomfortable with the partner's relationship history being right at the forefront.

I disagree that it's an issue but I romanced Merrill over Isabella every run so my opinion might be schewed.

Is the thought that in some alternate universe where your characters didn't get involved with them, they got together with someone else that distressing? You'd rather they be forever alone in that scenario?

On the Garrus/Tali thing, I've always felt they was gonna end up together since ME1 then ME2 happened (even though I heard neither was originally gonna be in ME2 or romances)

Not speaking for Kallen here but when Josephine and Lelianna are paired up and them being a couple of my favored characters and believe they're actually good together then when I romance Josephine (I don't really romance Leli because of Morrigan) it just wouldn't feel right.

The second in Mass Effect 3 when I was doing my Samara romance playthrough and noticed that Garrus and Tali hooked up, I never actually romanced Tali again. They were just so good together...

Except for you didn't break up a loving relationship as that only happened when you don't romance either of them. 

Tali was clearly infatuated with Shepard at first, not Garrus. Her romance is not at all like breaking up a relationship.

I only care about a past relationship Josephine had under three circumstances.

 

She treated them poorly in some way.

 

She talks about it to the point I as an Inquisitor feel like a substitute,

 

It negatively impacts her job.

 

Generally, I find a romantic history gives a character additional shading. It also would mean she wouldn't be the "shy, sweet virginal" type, which has worked for me exactly once in a BW game.

 

And I definitely wouldn't be opposed to her hooking up with Leliana/Cullen/Blackwall.

While I disagree a small bit that everything should be dropped for a hypothetical relationship (I mean you can't break up something that hasn't happened)

It's your own choice. Still, we have no reason to believe Josephine and Leliana have ever had a intimate relationship other than Leliana's supposed promiscuity which I still say is job based not personality.
