She tells me that Hard in Hightown 3: The Re-Punchening appeared in print from an Antivan printer a couple weeks ago. I'll give you a moment to contemplate the horror that is that title. I had my contacts in the Merchants Guild look for the author a couple years back. The best they could find out after spending a couple hundred gold [!] was that "Pyrral Bhelenforth" is a pen name. I could've told [rest is cut off; sentence presumably continues with a variation on "...them that."]

For me, the interesting bit is not so much learning Josephine's potential Varric nickname (I'll always be a Scribbler at heart) as it is the confimation that Varric gives (some) Inquisition members nicknames at all. Given his prickly relationship with Cassandra from the Emerald Graves streams, I was kinda worried that maybe he'd outgrown them, or that he couldn't bring himself to treat the new crowd the way he treated his besties from Kirkwall. Maybe Cassandra is just the Aveline of the group (with more resentment because of his kidnapping and interrogation) and doesn't really get a nickname.

I raised an eyebrow when I read Ruffles, here's to hoping Scribbles will prevail over Ruffles. Worst comes to worst, every time I read Ruffles in the game my mind will automatically replace it with Scribbles and the show will go on.

That... Makes a lot of sense.

He's grouchy about everything but he's still Varric. He's not going to completely block out everyone, especially not the ones who didn't do anything to him like Sera, Inquisitor or Josephine.

I want him to come talk to the Inquisitor and find them reading Hard in Hightown and watch them stutter and trying to explain themselves.

Josephine must have her own candle, ink and paper budget for the Inquisition. Minimum 1 candle per day, maybe 2 if working late.

That's what I thought too. The whole setup just seems a little goofy, I mean I know she is some kind of workaholic but her clipboard verges on the impractical.
