I'm going to call her Scribe Woman. For LIs, I prefer women over girls. Just saying.

Scribe Lady? Since she is all dressed up like one.

I'd vote 'Scribbles', but I have a thing for odd nicknames.

I prefer the sound of "Scribe Woman," as if she's actually an ass-kicking superheroine.

True. Her powers are she can write things either into or out of existence.

If Scribe Girl/Lady/Woman aka Scribbles is a trade advisor, how do you guys think that will work? Do you think she'll give us side quests to acquire "agents" that will act as a cash flow into the base? Do you think she'll deal with the upgrades, like were mentioned in that GamePro magazine in Scuttlebutt, if they're correct?

I still laugh at the name Scribbles. That should totally be her new nickname.

As for your questions, yes I can see her doing both actually. She'll act as an adviser for the economic side of things and give you quests to help with that. And she could also be the person we talk to about hiring people to make upgrades.

But does it really matter if it's companion or NPC, as long as both have good content it doesn't bother at all if one of the NPCs was straight or gay

Hopefully NPC romances, if they do them, get equal content.

Spending my easter sunday morning watching Inquisition videos (because, why not?) and I noticed this, I don't think it's been posted before...

Looks like our scribe girl?

Scribbles is awesome, ten to one that's Varric's nickname for her as well.

Given that she's apparently a scribe and appears to be looking a little nervous in both those bits of art, perhaps she'll be our equivalent to Traynor from ME3, someone who's been taken from a relatively minor role and thrown into the deep end with a bunch of seasoned warriors, trying desperately not to be completely bewildered by it all?

No, nobody has linked that image yet. People have always just used the full "Dragon Dive" image that yours mostly shows. That is definitely Scribbles. She has the same face and bandanna thing. Good catch, MattH. ^_^

I want to suggest it to Bioware before they fully finish recording lines. Reminds me of when Javik is called Prothy the Prothean because of the fan's nickname for him before we knew he was named Javik.

As for role, I agree with you on her being the "civilian thrown in with a bunch of warriors" thing.

I always loved it in the Citadel DLC where everyone who wasn't Traynor just rolled with Shepard having an evil clone, since they'd been through enough weirdness that this wasn't even worth batting an eyelid at. If she's similar to Traynor, you can imagine Varric feeling sympathy for her.

Inquisitor: We need to kill that High Dragon before we can have access to the mine.

Scribe Girl: I'm sorry, did you say kill a High Dragon?

Varric: Scribbles is right, last time I fought a High Dragon in a mine I nearly burnt off my chest hair. Only Hawke could have owned a mine that attracted monsters every other week. Still, at least there's a bright side this time.

Scribe Girl: What's the bright side?

Varric: This mine doesn't come with an insufferable Orlesian business partner...

(Memo to self, should stop writing hypothetical dialogue for this game. It's making the wait far more unbearable.)

lol, that's good.

Yeah, Varric has always been sympathetic to those not used to the lifestyle that comes with being with people like Hawke or the Inquisitor.

No.. Really you should continue writing hypothetical dialogue... Maybe start a new thread about it :)

So that is who that woman is. I have been hearing Scribe Girl all over the forums. Then I saw that image of her. Just never thought of putting the two together. She has really caught my attention. Hopefully she will be a compainion.

More likely, she'll be something of an administrative assistant, sort of like Traynor and Kelly in ME.

No because I don't think she's a follower.  She's never been seen with a weapon, but has been seen with a quill and parchment.  Plus all of  her concept art takes place in the Keep.  I think she's an important (or at least relevant) NPC.

That would be great.  I'd love to learn about who she is.  I'm expecting, though, that she's probably going to be someone we don't learn about until after release.  If she plays the role I suspect she might (either "Chambers/Traynor-esque Secretary" or "Faction Advisor/Representative"), I could see them not really feeling the need to (former) or wanting to (latter) release information on her.

To be honest, I just want names for her, DHMG, and the Grey Warden so we can stop using nicknames!
