I think there is still something to said to have a romantic union accepted by the religious institution it is performed under. The straight ones would have that, the gay ones would not (or may not, in the case of the stone and elven pantheon). And what if you're not a believer of any of those three? I think they sort of shot themselves in the foot to begin with here.
I hope that if SWTOR ever gets actual same gender romances, that there will finally be an option to have a gay marriage, just as the straight romances have. Not holding my breath on even having same gender romances with companions, though. It's been a while.
Well, SWTOR is a MMO game which means all people around the world can play it with a single registration. I mean MMO games can be
played anyone on Internet and probably BioWare didnt wanted to do deep romances, thats entirely because of the stupid laws about
"protecting children" in US/EU.
Imagine a 13-14 years old kid playing swtor by entering wrong-high-age during registration (on purpose) and seeing romance scenes
and/or even marriage (if they do) that kid will became a "he saw/learned something wrong in age" and parents will sue developers
and all hell will break lose.
I mean whats the point censoring/blocking young people from these content? They will see sexuality in future anyway, blocking them only
causes wrong ideas about same gender romance (which I also dont like some of them, but playing in game anyway, because its fun)
I really hate all those big-ass "laws/rules" about sexuality in video games, and worse, politicians always use this method to increase their
votes by saying "we will protect our kids from disqusting content" etc
I also want that in SWTOR, but probably thats not going to happen.
They said you can do it with some, not all.
Yup, that's why I said 'you can with Josephine'
SWTOR already has same sex flirtation, same sex kissing and mention of same sex marriage so some of those ships have already sailed.
more than that... We require more!
There's also the Skyhold stream (if you haven't seen it already) that's archived on BioWare's twitch channel. But it does contain some mild spoilers regarding Josephine.
But let's face it, we will probably never have enough Josie, even after the game is released. At least, I know that's how it'll be for me. ![]()
Josephine's accent is amazing...thats really makes me more interested in her- damn november come quickly!!!
so there will be more videos like that? its says Part 1 of 3, I watched that before on twitch but didnt see that part numbers

The video on Twitch is the whole stream, which is far more convenient. Whoever uploaded it to YouTube broke up that singular stream into three separate videos.
So true !
I'm curious who are you talking about. I played through a whole Jedi Knight with Kira (your apprentice) and it was pretty clear when I wanted to end the romance, not that I did anyway it was beautiful because I managed to roleplay as being interested by reluctant to the idea because of the code and it turned out beautifully..
Lieutenant Iresso (consular companion). I never spoke with the guy and BOOM. In three discussion and a line that say "I'm don't want that, I'm a jedi" I'm in a relationship with the guy... you should have seen my face when I realise that MMO = no save !
Hopefully I will not have the problem in DAI ! I wasn't really a fan of Josephine but a recent video about her made me change my mind and FAST !
I just discovered this subject and now I'm trying to know a little bit more !

ah ok, thanks for reply
Technically, Leliana can't, as she never took vows. But I don't actually know which part of the marriage ceremony you find valuable, so I don't know if that matters.
I always thought she took some at least after DAO, since she goes by Sister Nightingale. I know it is a code name, but I don't see the Chantry accepting someone who isn't part of a group that has authority claiming to be part of said group.
But mainly I just want the ability to marry the LI before any sex scenes and have them recognized as married. I'd be fine if it isn't an officially recognized union by the main religions.

Again, one can be married without religions officially recognizing the union. It happens here on Earth, so why not Thedas?
Yup, that's why I said 'you can with Josephine'
How do you know Josephine's romance path does that? Was it confirmed somewhere?
Completely impossible with s/s lovers due to Thedas not having provisions for that, hugely complicated when it comes to even straight relationships between followers of different religions.
Also Abrahamic religions don't exist in Thedas. It may be that no one cares much about sex before marriage, and that the Chantry doesn't consider it a sin.

I wish it was confirmed! I might ask Sylvia tho..
Oh and I don't know, that's why I said 'hoping' xD
" I'm kinda hoping you can with Josephine,"

Can't help but wonder if Josie has tan lines...
Can't help but wonder if Josie has tan lines...
As someone who's as pale as snow... How does someone with dark skin tan?
No idea, just when I look at Josephine I see someone that likes to lay out in the sun and is not naturually dark like Isabela.
This isn't a debate we're having, are we? Josephine has dark skin, like many Antivans.
Josephine isn't tan. That is her natural skin tone.
Bioware has given two descriptions of her skin tone.
"She is lighter than Vivienne and darker than Isabela."
"She has about the same skin tone as Maya Brooks from ME3: Citadel."
I love Josie. I am playing a dwarf first and a dwarf fits too well with Sera to ignore, but I actually think I like her more than Sera, and it is really really cool I can do this. Where I love both my options as much as I do and trying to order them is so hard. Also Josie is greatly increasing the appeal to play human. I dislike playing human but a non mage human/Josephine is so perfect. This is one of the best struggles I ever had in a video game.

Well sorry for thinking something else.

If Leliana did take vows, she'd be cut off from her romance, and BIoware won't do that.
And may I ask exactly why you prefer marriage?

Huh...Her skin complexion is very Indian-like...I mean that is what Maya Brooks' complexion looked like to me..
