Well, I guess it's time to dump her and romance Cassandra.
I wish I could say the same, Cass is as perfect as I thought.
And I'm pretty sure I got more flirts with her than with Josie? Can anyone confirm?

Well, this is kind of disappointing if true. You'd think they would have tried to avoid anything that could lead to the accusation that the Advisor Romances are not as involved as the companions. Especially since Josie was supposed to have been a "Core Romance".
They really are focused on making male romance options.

It may an animation issue.
Most of the other companions are exclusive to certain genders/races of the Inquisitor whereas Josephine is open to all Inquisitors.
I'll have to play through the arc to see for myself if the Romance Arc is equal to the others or if Josie really did get screwed over in the content department.
absence of a sex scene, doesn't mean that they aren't sleeping together IMO.

It's a thought, but if that was the issue I'd think it'd effect Iron Bull as well. All you're really adjusting for is height/stature, which they do well enough with all the other scenes. I'm guessing it was an intentional decision.

Just because there might not be a love scene - lets be honest - a SEX SCENE ... doesn't mean the quality of the storyline for it isn't good.

Agreed. I actually really love the writing and Josephine. She's one of my favorite Bioware romances thus far. I'm more bothered by the idea of less/truncated content for some romances vs. others, rather than how explicit said scenes are/aren't.

Hi everyone. I’m Josephine’s writer. As a rule I don’t post here, but I thought I’d make an exception to talk about my intentions with Josephine’s romance, mostly because people seem curious about it.
In the previous romance I wrote (Liara in ME3) there was a more explicit sex scene near the end of the character’s arc. I wanted to try something different for DA:I – have the intimate moment be earlier, be implied rather than seen, and leave the level of intimacy ambiguous so players could fill in what they wanted. The scene where the Inquisitor kisses Josephine for the first time and the screen fades to black is, to my mind, the first place they may be physically together… or it may just end in a kiss. That part I wanted to be interpreted more by players, not myself.
Anyhow, I know devs posting in threads can derail topics something fierce, so this will probably be my only post. I do want to thank you guys for the thread and for the kind words I’ve seen. Hope you’re enjoying the game!
I love how the Josie romance feels like a legitimate courtship. It's amazing.
Thanks so much for your input! I want to say I have really, really enjoyed Josephine's writing so far.

This doesn't wash when Iron Bull was meant to be restricted but ended up being for all races after extra time was put in by John Epler. If Josie is a core romance then the time should have been allocated.
If it was a design decision by the writer, then I withdraw my critique.
I doubt the writers realized the turmoil the Romances were going to create this go around when they were writing.

Thanks for the input and your hard work.
Even though I'm a little disappointed by the lack of an explicit scene for Josie (considering that everyone else apparently gets one), that doesn't change how Josephine is a fantastic character.

i dont mind no sex scenes reiminds me of KOTOR in good way. I have Salute you the flirt option made me think of Liara in ME1 as a Human Noble.

Without looking back the thread for any small spoilers - I am just before the end of "Act 1" and I was originally planning on romancing Bull with my first play through.
Josephine is just goshdarned perfectly perfect I can't /not/ romance her.

Bull can vie for my Inquisiters attention with Sera on my second run through.
Hello everyone. I am waiting for some timed wartable missions to conclude before playing more so I thought I would come and see how things are.
I love Josephine. She is by far my favorite part of Dragon Age: Inquisition for me and has made me like the game more as a result when before I had serious doubts due to revealed plotlines/characters/etc.

I really appreciate that, Sylvia. To be honest, while they were well-written I never really like Bioware's romances because they made pre-marital sex a prerequisite for continuing it, which goes against what I feel. So having two virgin lovers court each other and find their first true love while leaving how intimate they are alone and having the headcanon room for marriage to come first is just what I needed. ![]()
A lot of that should be under a spoiler cut, Kallen.

I put the part I think you are referring to under a spoiler. Sorry about that.
No problem and thank you.
