If you're after boobs, then Cassandra and Sera are both available.

It is not about boobs, but for the moment I started to think that their relationship is platonic or sort of (like Hawk/Sebastian) The romance is great and Josephine is perfectly written character, but I have played over 70 hrs, finished duel and still there were no even small reference that my Inquisitor and Josephine had something more than kisses.

There are some dialogue options I took with my inquisitor that down right say "hey we should have sex after this" and Josephine show no objections. So for me while there was not a actually scene, I feel I can safely assume it happened.

I'm content with believing after my Inquisition and Josephine stayed infront of the fireplace for a while, my Inquisitor had to have a bath to wash and soothe his battle wounds, then one thing leads to another.

I would expect Iron Bull to give me a back breaking pat on the back for getting with Josephine.

I mostly played side missions and explored locations, so it is still possible) You can give me a hint, is it after wicked hearts and Adamant or before?

I personally love the ambiguous nature of it all myself.  I'm asexual, and I find it rather interesting that I managed to romance a character where it can be interpreted as one if you so wish.  I'm curious to why it's such a big deal though?  As Sylvia said, it's fully up to you.

The sweetness is too much though.  I had to get a filling from it all.

It's kind of cool to hear about this.  I relate to asexuality pretty strongly, and it's cool to hear about Josephine's romance.  I'm still only in the Hinterlands, Storm Coast, and Fallow Mire, though, LOL.  I just found this thread through Google because I was searching up Josephine Montilyet and she's really adorable and shiny and gorgeous and ugh♥  I'm fairly smitten.  Then again, I pretty much love all of the characters!  It's crazy!  Blackwall interests me, Cullen interests me, Iron Bull interests me, Josephine interests me....and I NEED to romance Solas as an elven inquisitor on my next playthrough!!!  And Cassandra on another.  My cousin would like me to be with Sera, though--she's shipping us hardcore.  Anyway, um, yeah.  Josephine is powerful and super cute and ahh

So yeah, I don't see a problem with the percieved lack of physical display of affection, it's kinda nice that there are different presentations of a romance in the game, honestly.  :)  It's part of the game's (and life's) charm!

If i remember correctly its a dialogue option with her about what to do when the inquisition is done which i think happens when you ask about antiva. Not sure when though sorry.

I have to agree with the smitten part. I went into this game from a media black out about it. I had absolutely zero knowledge of the story, characters, romances, etc. So when I saw the heart option when talking with her I went for it. She is too classy not to imo.

All of this....for what? A kiss on the cheek and a fireplace scene? Calling this a disappointment would be a colossal understatement....And here I was hoping for an actual sex scene just like other romance options...but nope, said Bioware, you don't deserve it.

I'm not sure why this is an issue.

Josephine's arc is obviously rated PG, and a lot more tame than say Cassandra's. But just because it isn't shown on screen doesn't mean it didn't happen. You're only seeing snippets of these characters lives, you're not viewing the entirety of it. Movies are a good example of this. In the Star Wars films for example there is no sex scenes with Han and Leia. Yet I doubt anyone came away with the impression that they were celibate.

To be honest, I didn't find Sera attractive, just psychotic. And as far as I know, you cannot romance Cassandra as a female inquisitor.

So what race and gender did everyone romance Josie with? I romanced her with my male elf.  :)

I romanced her with my female Qunari.

They looked quite cute together. Also, the expressions my Qunari made during the dueling scene after Josephine charged in were priceless.

Star Wars was rated PG. DAI is rated M. This analogy is deeply false.

idk, I quite liked the cuddling, and I preferred it to the sex scenes. I felt like the Josephine romance was on the whole very adorable and very sweet, so the lack of breasticles didn't bother me at all. It seemed to fit with her character.

Not that I'm saying sex can't be adorable and sweet, obviously. Cassandra's scene was quite adorable and sweet, too, but I liked how "typically" romantic the cuddling in front of the fireplace with Josephine was.

Indeed, both scenes were adorable and sweet in their own ways

The game ending scenes with her were very nice.  I'm sure they're similar to other romances, but it was nice nonetheless.  I really enjoyed the walking up the steps to the war room crew scene.

I did. At least during the movies. Obviously not the books because they have three children in those.

He choose his words poorly by talking in absolutes.

It is unlikely that many people came away with the impression that they were celibate. They certainly do exist, and there's likely a number of reasons for that...

Not necessarily.

If the comparison is of two relationships where neither participant actively talks about having sex or it is not shown it is a fair analogy. The ratings of the medium and the thirty-eight years between the ratings (including changes in what is acceptable to present) is certainly notable, but it does not invalidate the comparison.

So for my second playthrough I am planning to romance Josephine with either a human or dwarven female. For those of you who have already romanced her: Any recommendations for which race I should choose? Like would it yield any particularly interesting dialogue compared to the other races etc?

I didn't get any unusual comments in the romance related to my race as a human, just the stuff she says early on before the romance related to leveraging your family ties in favor of the Inquisition and some questions related to that.

However, I would personally recommend the Dwarven Female option...mainly for the fact that I'm wondering how the

Spoiler
works when the Inquisitor is a Dwarf...

The thing is that Josephine's romance wasn't written as being asexual, and I feel like I'm badly missing something from the narrative the way that it's set up.

So I finished Josephine's romance a while back (in case I didn't mention before :P ) and got the achievement. I adore it to pieces, I really felt the intimacy and love; it's the kind of relationship I would love to have.

Got lots of screenshots myself, there's one I really want to share though:

How old is Josephine? Before the game was released most people though she was about 25. How old do you think she is now?

The only bit of information I could find about her age is that she threw a grand ball in Leliana's honor ten years before the game starts.

Since I'm having trouble seeing a fifteen year organizing a ball she must be atleast 35.

It is possible to make an analogy with Middle Ages, where 16-18 years old was fully adult person. I think Josephine is around 30.
