Hard to marry a man who has been dead for a few years.
I think the main difference between the Inquisitor and Blackwall is that Blackwall never becomes something akin to nobility. He's a commoner throughout, and after the reveal a disgraced one at that, so there was probably never any realistic chance that those two would get together. There is too much of a class divide, so the 'relationship' with Josephine never progresses beyond courtly love. The Inquisitor even if non-human, raises to become one of the most politically powerful people in Thedas. He/She is also practically being worshiped by the more devout Andrastians as some sort of holy messiah. Even with the scandal of Josephine being involved with a non-human, there would be benefits for the Montillyet family.

Nah, he'll always be Blackwall to me. Thom died a long time ago.

That's actually how I view it.
O/T but I'm kind of hoping Blackwall (if not executed) returns in DA4, since it seems like we might be going to Weisshaupt. If so he should show up in a cameo as an actual Warden.

So basically the only reason they are not together like the other couplings is because of the station difference?

So we have a zombie in the party? He is pretty sprightly for a dead guy.

We have no choice but to see it like that.

That was my take. Courtly love was often about love that could not be because the relationship would be viewed as illicit..either because one or both of the parties involved were married, because of differences in rank or station, or both.

I'd say that's fairly accurate

Blackwall and Josephine does not have passionate love. Blackwall does not have the courage to fight for Josephine's love.

Hence why they was doing "courtly love"

Because there is not passion!

How can you claim there's no passion when they chose not to do so because of their station differences
are they releasing any Josephine companion content, like even a short web comic or anything? backstory? etc?

Not that I am aware of. Bioware really hasn't said anything about what they have planned for DAI's support cycle.

I can't get over how cute this is.

There are other ones too.
I am considering a campaign with Josie as the romantic interest of choice, and have a question for Allegra: What race and class mix is your personal fave for the romance?
The main reason I ask is that Josie appears to be a traditionalist in some specific areas, but is open to play Juliet to one that defies traditional choice. Thus I keep going from Human Warrior or Rogue to one of the other selections and back again. having some direct input from the mind of the character herself would be quite helpful in sculpting that particular Inquisitor.
Thank you for helping to make this role so unique!
I asked her this earlier, but she said she didn't want to answer that since it would imply there was a correct choice on which gender, race, and/or class to use. She said instead to use whatever combination the player thinks is best.

Thanks for the inquiry. It would seem that Diplomacy bests the War Table again!
You're welcome. ![]()
