In defense of Cole...
I'm not sure that he actually gets inside people's heads. The way I understand it is that people's thoughts and dreams, with the exception of the dwarves, simultaneously exist in the Fade. Peoples minds are almost like radios broadcasting these signals into the Fade where they can be read or experienced by Spirits or Demons.
Unless I'm mistaken on that particular bit of DA lore, I'm not sure it's fair to call what Cole is doing 'rape.' He may not even have a much of choice in shutting it off, just as it would be difficult for us to shut out all sound that reaches our ears.
I also imagine Cole's ability to capture thoughts/experiences is like our ability to overhear other people's conversations, which would make his biggest crime, in that regard, eavesdropping. Is what Cole does intrusive, yes. Is it rude when he shares these things aloud, even though he means well? Often times, yes. Is it remotely similar rape? Hell no. I hate that insensitive and uninformed people throw that word around so carelessly. It's insulting to survivors everywhere and I especially wish that gamers wouldn't use it so readily.
That said, my quiz has a soft spot for Cole. So, along with fixing up Skyhold, I like to think socializing him would be a personal priority. First order of business will getting him a bed in a proper room and introducing him to food/hygiene. Later, quiz can take him on a shopping trip to the Free Marches, where the clothes aren't as drab as in Ferelden or poncy as Orlais. Josephine would probably want to teach him the concept of etiquette and inside thoughts before he goes anywhere else, though.
I was debating about who best to romance her with and now am definitely going to romance her as a Qunari, this ship has won me over.
Excellent choice... I say that with no bias whatsoever, of course. ![]()
