What would you recommend be added so it feels meatier and more present?

Here are a few examples

  • Flirting at the war table. Or snogging at the war table...followed by Cullen and Leliana walking in on the pair...
  • A diplomatic situation where the Inquisitor and Josephine both team up to win over their opponent and celebrate their victory by cuddling.
  • Going out on a proper date, either playing chess in Skyhold or eating in a fancy restaurant in Val Royeaux ?
  • Walking in on Josephine actually playing with her doll collection or doing something adorkably awkward.
  • Going to another ball or a dinner party ? I mean the Inquisitor seems to receive tons of invitations and Josephine did say she would like to take the Inquisitor out to dance more.

There is plenty one can do.

Those are some very good ideas. Number 1 was already kind of done with The Iron Bull's romance arc, but 2-5 would be fun. Thank you. ^_^

A proper date in Val Royeaux would be great. Val Royeaux needs more development. And solving a complex diplomatic crisis teaming up with Josie would be a great plot. Cullen and Leliana got Samson and Calpernia missions and Samson becomes a nemesis for Cullen. How about a former ally of Florianne attacking the Inquisition on a diplomatic way?

Ooh! I want to see that! And then we can join in with her!

Josephine: *fake man voice* Hahaha! You have fallen into my trap, Comptesse! *Orlesian female voice* So you think, Marquis! Yet it is you who have fallen for mine!

Inquisitor: *walks in* Ah! I've been looking for... *puzzled* you?

Josephine: *turns red* I was just... That is... I didn't... Don't tell anyone!

Inquisitor: *picks up the 'Marquis'* He looks like an utter scoundrel. What is his name?

Josephine: *still red* Umm, that is Marquis André de Montfort.

Inquisitor: And who is this? *points at the 'Comptesse'*

Josephine: *redder still*  Comptesse Valérie Des Chênes.

Inquisitor: *smiles tenderly at Josephine, then makes sinister voice* Now, what was this about a trap, Comptesse?

Josephine: *relaxes a bit, smiles at the Inquisitor, resumes playing the Comptesse* Yes! My trap! Which you will not escape!

Etc.

5 months and I still can't get myself to romance anyone other than Josie lol

I think my favorite thing about her romance is during cheesy scenes, there's also just the right amount of humor that makes me feel giddy and happy instead of awkward. Like this scene over here:

https://youtu.be/-eN0gjh_uK8?t=21m24s

*sigh* I don't think I'll ever enjoy another romance as much as I've enjoyed Josie's.

I would have enjoyed it a great deal more if the interaction had been more in depth. Remember in Origins how much we could talk with our companions in camp?

That scene where Josie tells us about her work woes is criminally short. I do want to hear everything she has to say and reply to everything, ask questions and everything.

And I want to have coffee with Josephine! Workaholics must drink coffee! It's an absolute rule. *nod nod*

I think the conversations were just as long as Origins' though, or maybe a bit shorter- aside from Leli's tale-telling anyway :P

But yes, please coffee with Josie!

I don't know. There is definitely something missing from Josephine's romance, and no I don't mean a sex scene. There is a short banter at the war table where she admits to being curious about what is beyond the edges of the map.

Why can't we ever talk with her about that? A picnic under the stars, dreaming about how big the world is, if there are other worlds out there even! That would have added a lot to her character.

You can only put so much into a dialogue with a character, they can't tell you everything and that's why banter is so good at not only amusing interactions, but character development. A good example is Cole/Vivienne's banter which reveals that Vivi is actually a lot more caring than she lets on.

Banter is dialogue though, just not with the PC. Is there any info we find out about Josephine that is exclusive to her romance? Cassandra (her previous relationship with a mage) and Sera (her nightmare) have that.

Point. There is just something that bothers me about her character and her romance. I can't put my finger on it. *niggling thoughts activate*

Well I just looked at DanaDuchy's romance videos and noticed that Cassandra's and Iron Bull's romance videos are 19 minutes long, while Josephine's 27 minutes.

I used to feel that but I think it's because I liked the romance way more than I originally expected (and I had high expectations too lol) and just wanted MOAR but if you think about it, you get 2 bedroom scenes, 1 goodbye scene, an awesome duel scene, she lets you win in cards, she gives the best hug 2014/2015 after the final battle (one of the most satisfying game moments too because when the Inquisitor was standing there infront of her I was just like "GO FOR IT!", didn't actually think it would happen, but I was happily disappointed), 1 semi goodbye/romantic scene in Arbor Wilds. Whew I'd argue she has the most romance content in the game tbh (next to Cullen at least).

Sera's has a lot of hidden content in her journal. I would put her as a serious contender for most content. It's just subtle.

On another note, as far as I know, the reports at the war table are not stored anywhere, are they? It's a shame because some are quite entertaining.

I remember trying to time it so I could see the advisors talk during a report. So finicky... *request for 'look at advisors' button*

Can I still do companion quests after the Temple of Mythal quest? I'm trying to activate Josephine's quest where I bring back her family's nobility status, but I can't access it despite exhausting pretty much all dialogue with her regarding her past.

I have just done two romances in this game, Cass and Josie. It's still too early for me to watch the rest of them in youtube, because I'm still not sure which ones I will see in play. I enjoyed both of them, so I find all those complain threads out there quite unfair.

But yeah, we want moaaaar romantic content for Josie!

Yup it's truly a shame. I liked the reports at the war table, they should be somewhere to reread them.

Yes you can, granted it breaks the pacing slightly, but you can totally do it. You cannot however do any companion quests post final battle.

Intersting how you can take Cole out for drinks, but you can't take Josephine (or any other LI) out to a meal

Wouldn't be surprised if Bioware did something like the Citadel DLC for ME3 which had a lot of follower scenes, both romantic and just friendly.

I would love a scene with the PC meeting Josies family.

Like that scene in the Fresh Prince.

Father: My sister dated a man...who was tall.

Mother: Yes I know a woman in Fereldan who...likes tall men

Sister: It is so good to see Josie....dating a ...tall person

Brother: Am I the only one who noticed that he is a Qunari?

I've been thinking about this a lot. Personally, I think it's because she has no character arc. She neither grows nor changes as a person throughout the entire romance, or indeed the entire game.

I also, on a personal note, really hated the duel scene.
