I am still unsure whom my m!Trevelyan!mage should romance, and wish to explore Josie's, Cass' and Dorian's romances as far as I get in a single playthrough and then decide who suits him best. I still haven't done Hushered Whispers.

 

So how much can I flirt with whom?

(My Lavellan did the mistake that she was locked in a romance with Blackwall, so Solas friendzoned her right at their arrival in Skyhold, though she was able to break up with the Wall, do a whole Bullmance, and then end up with Cullen... tough girl)

Is there a point where one is soft-locked in a romance even though no physical closeness was shared, as with

As far as I know, Josie should be a sweet disney-like romance, so I am afraid I could prevent it from triggering if Lord Trevenyan flirts a bit too aggressively with others. (As with Solas or ninjamancing Leliana in DAO)

Okay so for flirting with companions, soft spoilers incoming except one part that I've tagged:

Dorian: You can friendly flirt if you want, they're harmless. To engage a romance with him you have to be very very direct and it's an obvious choice, so no ninja-mance. Even if you get um.. physical, you can break up with him at any time.

Cassandra: Normally whenever I flirt with Cassie, I would've also romanced Josie as well, so she'd tell me about how Josie and I have been growing close, you can either deny the rumors or say that you have been growing close (this locks you out of Cassie's romance). I do know there's a certain scene where she confronts you about the romance which will lead to her romance quest and a lock in, I'm not very sure about the details, unfortunately.

Josie: A couple of flirts, especially when you do her personal quest, and you'll find Leliana.. questioning you. You can either admit you have feelings for her or not. However, you aren't locked into Josie's romance until ( a certain point where you'll have to do a romance quest and you can break up with her or lock in the romance then)

Josie tells you that she's been ninja-engaged, your choices will either lead to a locked in romance, or a break up. You can also break up anytime prior to that quest.

Would someone be willing to sell me on romancing Josie? I'm a Cullen kind of girl, but I prefer playing a dwarf. Reformed criminal who grabs onto the Herald thing with both hands because it makes her feel like she matters. Sera, Bull, and Blackwall are unsuitable for various reasons. But I have two main problems.

1. I have a slight ruthless streak in that I prefer Briala ruling through Gaspard. So dead Celene.

2. The class difference. My Cadash is very and sincerely sorry for her violent past, but she does have one. And sometimes I get the sense Josie dislikes me. Also my dwarf’s initial reaction to her personal quest tends to be “talk to me when you’re actually poor” though she softens after hearing Josie’s backstory.

Any advice on negotiating these particular issues?
