Below post is copied from the new vault in hope of reaching a few more people here

Could someone who has either the original or the CTP version of the Gothic Estate tileset please check in the toolset if the Greenhouse Walkway crosser is working correctly for them? For me, when choosing this crosser (regardless which version of the tileset I use), the paint cursor takes the shape of a terrain, not of a crosser, and it only paints the same tiles as the Greenhouse terrain (and that only after I have at least clicked once on the normal Greenhouse terrain first). I already downloaded and installed the CTP version again, but still have this problem. In the .set file, Greenhouse Walkway seems to be correctly declared as crosser.

Now I can't believe this bug would go unnoticed that long, plus I even think I remember using these specific tiles successful in the past. Also considering this problem occurring with Chandigar's original version as well, I begin suspecting there might be a problem with my toolset.exe and therefor would like to ask someone to confirm whether or not this problem is indeed just on my end.

Okay, I found a post by someone else about this problem here, but sadly Chandigar's answer doesn't work for me either...

So how does a tile "know" which terrain or crosser it belongs to? I think for groups and features, it is set up in the .set file, but I couldn't find anything about how it works for terrain/crossers.

Boodah I believe the crosser is on the inside of the greenhouse so the exterior of the crosser is going to have the appearance of the greenhouse but if enter into the greenhouse you will see the walkway crosser on the inside. If this is not true post again and I will take a look for you and see if there are errors that may have been missed and yes you must have greenhouse tiles placed first.

There's a possibility the .itp file reference for the crosser has a typo in it. The .itp file is what hooks options in the toolset menu up to terrains and crossers.

Thank you everyone for the replies.

@henesua: Hm, I thought this only sets up to which other type of tile a tile itself can/will border on.

@Cervantes: I only tried to use it inside the Greenhouse. I also tried to do as Chandigar suggested in the linked post above and placed the GH_stairs feature first (which works as well as GH_w_platform), but the Walkway still only works as a duplicate of the Greenhouse terrain.

@six: I checked the .itp file with NWN Explorer and it looks (at least to me) like there is no typo. While checking the .set file with the set editor earlier (where everything seemed to look ok), I also created an .itp file and put both in a hak which in turn I placed above the ctp hak - all to no avail.

Not being at my computer right at the moment I will check it out tonight. There is one more test I believe Chandigar created a gothic gardens which I believe uses the same greenhouse and walkway crosser see if it has the same problem if not compare the crossers in both set files.

Dude! Gothic Gardens works! Right of the bat, first difference is, it is only called Walkway here (instead of Greenhouse Walkway). Could the naming be the problem? Thanks for the great suggestion and I'm going to investigate a bit further now.

Edit: Checking the itp file with the gff editor, there is a note saying, there is a 16 letter limit for CResRefs, which is exceeded in case of Greenhouse Walkway. It also says spaces are not allowed, but that doesn't seem to actually be true, since the Forest Clearing terrain works just fine with one.

Edit2: Success! Renaming the crosser in the set file to GH Walkway, replacing all references to it in the set file and creating the according itp file worked. All three of you were pointing in the right direction, thank you, guys!

I guess then, a tile name should not be longer than 16 characters.
