Considering both Celene and Gaspard know what the eluvians can do, as well as the fact that she controls them, it wouldn't be hard for them to put 2 and 2 together. Heck, maybe this is why Celene called up Morrigan.
I don't think she will show herself as the enemy. She may appear as an ally. Morrigan also has her motives. She could be playing her own game.

No, I don't believe it was. And despite your issues with it, I sincerely believe you need to read it anyways. There a little hints and nuances to things within the novel that no summary could accurately portray.

Well, now I figured out why Gaspard was trying to get Wynne on his side. He lost Lienne, another powerful healer. So it makes sense why he'd want her help, especially since Wynne wasn't attached to a Circle anymore.
Wynne will not support him if the elves just want equal rights.
Of course I woudn't side against her if there's an option of making an alliance between her and one Orlesian contender, or if I can end the OCW without going against her.
I wouldn't be fine with just having Orlais' help though. My first Inquisitor would (if possible) want to restore order, and ending the OCW one of his goals.
If there's an option to help elves/Briala and on the same time stopping the OCW, I'll take it.

Also note the Divine simply wanted Celene to end the revolt this doesn't necessarily advocate slaughtering them and/or mean that she approved of the way Celene did it.

It probably would have ended in countless slaughter of innocent Mages, imho. I truly believe, after reading Asunder, she was the biggest obstacle in that. Granted, a lot of Seekers and Templars pulled away from Chantry regime, but.. you can tell it would've ended horrifically.

With the elven Inquisitor, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to help the elves free themselves simply because the timing was inconvenient. The status quo is simply too abhorrent to be permitted to persist. Since the Inquisitor is the only one able to deal with the veil tears, I don't think Orlais is as important as you do.
Would you say the same if helping Briala prolong the war led to more death and suffering then simply ending it by siding with Gaspard or Celene?
