And here I thought the pro-mages were all against taking action against people now because of what might happen in the future.

It's possible we can restore their relationship. I woudn't bet on this, but it's possible.Something that I don't know if I wish to deploy yet, as it's possible that TME was simply an unfortunate prequel and this... relationship event won't necessarily end poorly.
I did that. Years ago.
You didn't explain exactly what the campaign is, though.

Evidently playing a hand against the elves as well. It's still only a possibility, but a growing one.
Honestly Xil, I really don't think that was the case. The empire needed peace, especially with everything else going on, Leliana expressed Justinia's sympathies towards the Elves

Would you say the same if helping Briala prolong the war led to more death and suffering then simply ending it by siding with Gaspard or Celene?
My contention is that helping Briala free the elves can lead to less bloodshed in the long term, even though some will die short term in the conflict. If the chevaliers can't kill elves in their initiation rites, if the elves can't be killed with impunity by nobles, if the guards can't abuse their positions against elves, and if entire populations can't be purged en mass, it can lead to more lives saved in the long term.
My elven Inquisitor would support Briala.

...I don't think relationships ending badly is something unique to same sex relationships between women in Dragon Age. Actually, I can't think of any relationships that genuinely end well.Something that I don't know if I wish to deploy yet, as it's possible that TME was simply an unfortunate prequel and this... relationship event won't necessarily end poorly.

It depends. What would side with Briala mean? An elven state or more right for the elves? My contention is that helping Briala free the elves can lead to less bloodshed in the long term, even though some will die short term in the conflict. If the chevaliers can't kill elves in their initiation rites, if the elves can't be killed with impunity by nobles, if the guards can't abuse their positions against elves, and if entire populations can't be purged en mass, it can lead to more lives saved in the long term.

And I won't here, as Ieldra keeps getting upset about this topic. PM me if you still want to know.

See above response.

If the chevalier initiation rites really do revolve around that... then every last one of them is sworn to an undoubtedly evil organization.

I will see if it's possible to destroy everything Orlesian. This may well include Leliana and the Divine, after that other little nugget. I'm comprehensively fed up with the place.
Hmm. We should see how he responds if my "No ally of mine" campaign gets off the ground.
That would also include both Briala and Celene. Briala considers herself Orlesian.

I did that. Years ago.
If you want to diplomatically tweet Weekes or Laidlaw because of your concern, I will support you. I think other people here would support that as well.
I think it would be ill advised to go on the offensive about TME, however, as Briala and Celene breaking up was nowhere near as bad as Branka letting darkspawn violate Hespith and feeding dwarven flesh to her, or Leliana being tortured (and worse) because of the betrayal by Marjolaine.
