Xil and Lob's point is, I think, that as Briala is criticized by some (myself included) for hyphotethically prolonging the OCW despite the Veil tears, the same should be done for Gaspard and Celene, that won't stop their armies regardless of the Veil tears.

Well if people didn't screw around during apocalyptic crises, there wouldn't be nearly as many quests for player characters to complete.

Either one of the others could end the bloodshed and dying by surrendering, you know.

I believe the point is that both of them at least have an end to the bloodshed as part of their goal. They want to end the war as swiftly as possible (On very different terms naturally). People single out Briala because her immediate express goal is to keep the bloodshed going as long as possible.

While true, that doesn't mean that we can't criticize those people.

Not "as long as possible," but "as long as necessary to ensure elven freedom." The bloodshed itself is not the end.

Creating as much bloodshed as possible the the only way Briala's plan works. Whether it's the means or the ends, her agenda is functionally the same.

^^^yup. There's a civil war going on, both sides explicitly want it to end. Briala wants both sides to lose badly, so that no one can mistreat elves. Only problem with that is that if they don't have the military might to oppress elves, they don't have the military might to fight giant fuc* off demon invasions.

The aim for Celene and Gaspard is the throne, while Briala's goal is helping her people move out of a fixed place in a human dominated society. Celene and Gaspard covet the throne, and aren't halting their civil war to prevent bloodshed, but only Briala is called out for what she's doing. None of them are immediately stopping their actions because of the veil tears, but only Briala is consistently singled out.

Then wouldn't she logically be the one whose favor it'd be most important to court?

Nah, I'd rather just grab the mirrors for the Inquisition. I don't trust anyone else with that kind of power. Not Gaspard, Celene, or Briala.

Briala wants to weaken them, while Celene and Gaspard create bloodshed by fighting a civil war for the throne, even in the midst of the veil tears that threaten Thedas.

If you could just grab everything you wanted, none of the diplomacy quests would be necessary.

Given their...Connection to various erm...Ancient Demonic Deities...I think they just need to be destroyed, Forever.

Forgotten about, Wiped from memory and lore.

I wouldn't even give such a boon to the Inquisition, its merely a temporary measure to the chaos of the day, what prevents them from misusing them, from unleashing something worse down the line?

This isn't a way to hack Geth to prevent a War, Its doorway to Hell.

Oh, I know. In a perfect world, I could either smash or simply take the mirrors, and not require anyone else.

Because Celene and Gaspard are FIGHTING a war which is different then Briala who wants to keep one going from the sidelines to benefit from it.

But the difference is, briala is one elf with an eluvian network(we are perfectly capable of movin mirrors) while celene and gaspard have large well trained armies and together control orlais. We can /not use the mirrors/find the password, what we cannot do is spintaneously create armies.

Celene and Gaspard are participants in the Game, and you could also say their actions haven't been on the straight and narrow, either. It's not like Celene or Gaspard are putting down their claim for the throne because of the veil tears. I don't see why Briala is singled out when she's looking to help all the elves, rather than pursuing the throne like the other two participants in the arena. If Briala can help the elves after centuries of this oppressive lifestyle, then I think it's worth the effort.

Briala seems to be signaled out for 2 reasons.

1) She is the only one getting a defense from posters like yourself

2) She has access to what could be considered a WMD in the form of the Eluvian Network.

Oh yeah. I would simply use them till we finish the crisis at hand, then throw down a Storm of the Century at the heart of the network, then be done with it. I'm wondering now if the use of eluvians is causing the recent spike in red lyrium.

I'd maybe have Dagna work on them to figure out more, but experiment on them somewhere far away from my main stronghold lest something goes wrong.

You assume my issue relates to the Veil Crisis it doesn't.

My issue is Briala attempting to profit from prolonging a bloody war that will cause death and suffering.

That puts her right at the top of my **** list.

Molten magma is still the best way to go. Even if the mirrors survive, anyone who goes after them won't.

I'm not sure if #1 applies, but what lob and Xil seem to be missing is that she is initially at least, in opposition to the inquisition. We want peace and order, and factions to give us troops. She wants chaos in Orlais so she can achieve her goals. Elf equality/rights doesn't enter the equation at that point. Our purpose isn't to be the social justice warriors of thedas, it's to close veil tears and stop demon invasions. Unless briala can offer something better than the combined military might of Orlais, she's an enemy.
I don't mean troops wise, I mean the eluvians have to be as effective in game as getting backed up by gaspard or celene.

Just smash them, pick up the pieces, and then throw them into the lava.

A smashed one...I guess that's one way to do it.
