I don't see why that would be likely at all, especially for an elven Inquisitor.
Because she's trying to prolong the war whereas the Inquisition will need to end it?
Why?A Dwarf Warden couldn't help Jarvia in Origins.

Jarvia was ultimately hurting her people though, whereas Briala is trying to help no matter what

I can think of a number ways Briala will, inadvertly, hurt her people.
Chieftain amongst them being that there is a ****** demonic invasion happening right now and the elves would probably prefer having chevaliers between them and the giant purple thing with horns rather than killing each other.
Jarvia was ultimately hurting her people though, whereas Briala is trying to help no matter what
Good intentions but a bad way of doing it
I was simply pointing out how comparing Jarvia and Briala are like comparing apples and oranges. Jarvia had no good intentions, why would a Dwarven Warden want to help her?

We have somewhat bigger fish to fry at the moment.

And there's nothing stopping Briala's actions from ultimately hurting the elves.

Unintentionally. Her heart is in the right place no matter what, can you say the same about Jarvia?
The throne? No. A possible faction to side with? I think it's plausible.
I'm talking about ending the Orlesian Civil War, which I would put money on being something you have to resolve. That means either working with Celene or Gaspard.
I don't agree. You might be able to work a deal with Celene and Briala and get rid of Gaspard.
So support Celene, then?

And I'm pointing out that our Inquisitor's race won't necessarily allow us to side with others of the same race.
Briala is working to free the elves, as opposed to running a mob organization that profits on the suffering and misery of others. And the status quo is hurting the elves plenty, so I don't get the insistence on why some people want her to be a villain.
Mercury means that Briala trying to help the elves may just end up hurting them more, much like how Anders trying to help the mages resulted in hurting them.

Prolonging a war to help your goal also profits on the misery and suffering of others. And prolonging a bloody conflict won't cause plenty of suffering?
Because I despise war profiteers that's why.
And I'm pointing out that our Inquisitor's race won't necessarily allow us to side with others of the same race.
but if there's a way for a Dalish Inquis to do so, without causing further harm, I think it could be plausible [based off race] I'd like to see more choices/alternate scenes due to your racial choices. The Jarvia thing with a Dwarven Warden wouldn't make sense, even if there was an option. No good comes from that, good can come from this.

With conditions. Don't know the conditions yet, or if it is Celene or Briala that take the lead. Will Briala be able to unite all clan? I really don't know. I have to wait and see. I ruled out one of the three.
Perspectives differ on what Anders did, but that doesn't pertain to this discussion. Suffice it to say, I don't buy into Mercury's insistence that Briala will be a default villain.
I don't think Mercury is even saying that
Unintentionally. Her heart is in the right place no matter what, can you say the same about Jarvia?
Her intention doesn't matter to me when her methods are atrocious, can you say the same for Bhelen? ![]()

Fair enough,it does if your Dwarf's a perverted greedy bastard who only cares about themselves
and no good comes from a lot of decisions in both games. At a high cost I'm not willing to pay.

Everyone but my Aeducan and Surana can ![]()

I don't Mercury is even saying that
I'm just saying it's likely.
That said my Inquisitor will definitly consider her a villain albeit a well intentioned one
I'm addressing how Mercury thinks the player will have to kill Briala, which I disagreed with.
It's a possibility, but it doesn't make her a default villain
Actually, I think tearing down a system that perpetuates racism, murder, and mass killings can stop suffering.
I support freeing an entire people from an unjust system, so I don't agree with you that Briala will need to be killed. I see no reason to needlessly turn the three-dimensional character of Briala into an antagonist for wanting to help liberate her people.
So innocents suffering is acceptable if it supports your cause? I vehemently disagree.
I do too but not at the expense of innocent people. Well intentioned and complex villains exist Lobselvith.
