Wait, it wasn't obvious?
Hey, female avatar. Totally misleading, bro.

Him dying while slaying imshael would be fitting, or saving us at the last moment before imshael KO's the party would be cool. Alternately, sacrificing him to learn blood magic from one of the forbidden ones would be pretty cool(if you're a complete b*stard with an evil sense of humour)Yeah, I think Ser Michel is the only likely guy. I hope they do his story justice, and we don't swoop in and clean up his life-long hunt in 10 minutes.
Can he truly be racist? I mean, he's half elf so can one be racist to their own race?
Firstly, he's human. Secondly, yes, quite easily.
Don't worry, Justinia. I am a girl, so you got one right(not that I didn't make it easy.

No, just like I thought you were a girl.
I'm terrible at guessing genders lol.
You though *I* was a girl!?!?!?!?!

Damn it, now you put that idea in Xil's head now lol

Okay, I didn't realize people can be racist to their own race. Seems weird.
Looks like I have to apologize twice over. For that aaaand for thinking you weren't a guy. Darn text limitations.Damn it, now you put that idea in Xil's head now lol

I truly do not think he's racist, I believe he was just overcompensating to continue the facade of him being full human.

Has there been a discussion already on the Highland thing? Mike Laidlaw said on the PAX panel that a major character from The Masked Empire would be present there. This character was also referred to as "he".
Am I missing something here? It seems to me that according to any reasonable definition of "major character" it has to be Ser Michel.
Him and Gaspard are the only major male characters that are alive at the end of the book.
I AM SER MICHEL DE CHEVIN!!!!!
Okay, I didn't realize people can be racist to their own race. Seems weird.
What else would you call those Nazis with Jewish blood?
Damn it, now you put that idea in Xil's head now lol
I confess, it's somewhat tempting.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
Oh damn, good point. I didn't even think about that. And yeah, there are probably some of those running around.
And patriotic Orlesian elves. And devout Andrastian elves. Possibly some Templar elves. A few mage elves as well, with the falling apart of the Circles. And let's not forget simply criminal elves, human-tied elves with bonds of family/friendship, and simply elves of a different power base that will see Briala as a competitor for influence and an obstacle for the 'right' path.
A monolithic politiccal group the city elves are not.
The racist dolt deserves no better.
He's racist? How?
Okay, I didn't realize people can be racist to their own race. Seems weird.
Racist is overly simplistic. He was very conflicted about is background do to the teeny issue that if he was found out he'd be expelled from the Chevaliers and executed. Though by the end of the book, he does mostly come to peace with who he is.
What else would you call those Nazis with Jewish blood?
Considering how deep they looked in family lines for such a thing, dead.
Come on, Ser Michel wasn't racist, at least not at the end of the book. I quite liked him.
What else would you call those Nazis with Jewish blood?

...You don't understand he's only doing it to cover up the face he's half elf and really has no problem with elf's at all, right?
You've never seen the Boondocks, I take it. Uncle Ruckus is all the proof you'll ever need.
LOL YES!!!
But as I said, I think he was just overcompensating.

Whether we actually see any of these is another matter altogether. DA doesn't seem to mix factions much: we didn't see Dalish with strong opinions on the mage question, we didn't see surface dwarves who cared about Orlais vs. Ferelden, and we've never seen elves with institutional ties to the Chantry.

Watch out, Dean dropped a logic bomb! Take cover!
But in all seriousness, I totally agree with your post.
Considering how deep they looked in family lines for such a thing, dead.
Which is what would happen to Michel if they find out he is an elf blood....Though now it does not matter.
Aaaaahhhh, logic you cold hard B*tch, ruining analogies since day 1. Also, still pretty sure Michel just acted that way to allay suspicion.Considering how deep they looked in family lines for such a thing, dead.
