They are literal gateways to Hell.

Or at least its incarnation in Dragon age if the fact that a forbidden one coughed up the activation ruby is any indicator.

Really? Just a little dramatic. I can find Gaxkang the Unbound in the Quaint Hovel. It's not the mirrors. Darkspawn and demons are pretty easy to find in Dragon Age.

Still interesting to note that Imshael somehow knew just how to reactivate the network. A tad bit convenient.

That's racist.

In the Mass effect way of "You humans are all racist" sure :P

In any literal sense? No.

I say still they made them, or enabled the people who did.

Yeah, any speculation on Felassan? The whole time, I thought he was behind everything. An extremely powerful Dalish mage who doesn't identify as Dalish, serves some kind of super-powerful Fade creature that may or may not be the Dread Wolf, and has a mysterious clan we wouldn't want to meet. Plus, he is obviously friendly with Imshael.

That's real shady.

I thought he was legit right until he seemed downright casual when dealing with Imshael. At the end, when he just sort of disappears in front of Briala I thought that he was actually Fen'Harel. That turned out to not be the case, but maybe that's his master. I'm pretty sure the mysterious entity is going to be our main villain in any case, since Felassan seemed to know about the coming fade tears.

Yup. And for all his powerful magic, he was still susceptible to whatever his boss is.

I found this interesting:

Mihris said, "Will you take me to your clan?". Felassan said. "I don't think you want to meet my clan"

It's entirely possible. Could explain how Audacity knew to purify the mirror as well.

Speculation: Audacity was one of Imshael's underlings

Makes me wonder if his whole clan is in league with the entity as well.

I think some elves have made deals with demons to get information or tools. The tool may be okay because someone has already paid the price to get the tool. i just don't know yet. You do have an excellent point there.

Damn, that would literally make my head explode....what're the odds of that being true though?

Anyways, I think it'd be more of since the mirrors were (theoretically) of demonic origin, an upper level demon could easily know how to fix one.

I don't think they are, probably has some part to why he doesn't consider himself Dalish anymore

Seeing how the Elven culture is so lost, I can understand why they would do that. Like Merrill, for instance.

I somehow think the Formless one to be the the first incarnation of Demon Kind, the oldest, strongest and most powerful of its kind.

The Demon Lord of Lords, If any one can form a method of warping reality, it would be that entity.

That his underlining passed that knowledge along with a price should come as no surprise.

It would be ironic given that they paid the same price in antiquity only to have to repay it due to the loss of that knowledge (likely self inflicted)

You have a point there as well. He stated that after this elf mage said she didn't want to deal with demons anymore. It ties nicely with the fact that he told Briala not to give him the pass word. His boss couldn't get the PW without her.

Indeed. And I think that might be why the Formless One is the last to be revealed, because it is the strongest of the Forbidden Ones. I think the creature could already be within the mortal world, and as the name implies, be an extremely powerful shapeshifter.

Who do you think is his boss? I thought the boss killed him because he didn't get the PW.

You have a point there as well. He stated that after this elf mage said she didn't want to deal with demons anymore. It ties nicely with the fact that he told Briala not to get him the pass word. His boss couldn't get the PW without her.

So that implies that the demon needed to know the password, or that it would be difficult to obtain otherwise. That's weird, because you would think a demon that powerful would be able to just rip the answer straight out of Briala's mind, no problem. So either this Demon is very powerful, but limited, or there is some lingering magic of the elder days that is protecting Briala.

And now I'm wondering if Imshael and "The Master" are in league, or maybe rivals. Maybe that gem of Briala's is rigged somehow. Demons are not exactly known for their friendly and forthright natures.
