Couldn't care less, if they are truly desperate for their own land they can hoof it to Ferelden
But it wouldn't be their land. Orlesian CEs aren't Dalish. It's like saying that because Nevarra exists Fereldans had no reason to complain Orlais conquered them since they could go there.
Except Nevarra isn't a bit of land set aside specifically for Fereldens

The Dalish only get the Hinterlands if the Hero of Ferelden was Dalish, so having land where they have sovereignty is still an issue in some cases.

Damn, that was pretty cold. Still, it's gonna be damn near impossible to catch Briala, since she could just teleport to the other end of the country.
Yup the City Elves have lived in the Dales all this time so the Dalish have no real right to conquer it.
Not if she's kept away from the mirrors she can't.
There's probably a mirror in every major location in Orlais. Hell, she could just chill at the center of the network, and we couldn't touch her.

Smash the mirrors!

SOunds like most of the eluvians have been smashed over the years. The ones left are in old forgotten elven crypts and such

There was one sitting in the middle of the damn palace in Halamshiral. It sounds like some might have been hidden in plain sight all along.
Yes... let's humiliate the formost military power in southern Thedas. There's no way that'll have repercussions down the line.
Seriously... Briala's smarter than that. She knows Celene and she knows Gaspard. They'd never tolerate something like that. And it's going to take centuries before the city elves got something to rival the Chevaliers. Orlais will recover their strength faster than the elves can build theirs.
This foremost military power is embroiled in a civil war, is undergoing a religious crisis as templars and mages break away from the Chantry to fight their own civil war on Orlesian soil, and Nevarra has apparantly been getting aggressive.
There may be repercussions later on, but at the moment, Orlais is in a very poor position to stop any elves that decide to get uppity ![]()

You don't think siding with Briala is a good idea?
Nope too much potential harm from those mirrors.

Go Team City Elf!
Not hidden so much as taken by the wealthy as art. And now that the secret is out, it would just be common sense to hunt the ones in Noble art collections and other places of power, like palaces and military fortifications, and smash them. There was one sitting in the middle of the damn palace in Halamshiral. What happened to smashing them [the eluvians]?
I would never do that except as a *very* last resort.

I dislike how the fate of the elves dominates this debate. What about the fate of Orlais and Ferelden? And the dwarves. The mages, maybe even the templars?

Or bury them. I doubt Briala would be keen on trying to rematerialize into a couple of tons of dirt and stone.
Regardless, if she wants to negotiate with the Inquisitor, she either has to leave her web or invite someone to the center. Either leaves her vulnerable, and inviting someone to the control room leaves the whole network vulnerable.
Further, I doubt being the mirror master leaves her immune to surprise attacks, treachery, or magic. Sure, she has instinctive control of the subway, but she's still fallible and as prone to mistakes and deception as she ever was.
Now, pure tangent speculation time: I wonder what would happen if you used magic, or tried to breach the Fade while in the Eluvian travel space.
Weren't Felassan, Lienne, and Mihris fighting with magic during their travel along the Eluvian paths? I was under the impression that it wouldn't cause the user undue distress besides the occasional summoning of a Fade spirit via magic overuse.

I'm pretty much thinking that there's going to be a narrowing of options for fixing the Templar/Mage solution. I doubt absolute freedom for mages and the templars becoming some sort of specialised law enforcement akin to the grey wardens (ie, they basically go out in search of a threat, but don't act like jailors any more) is going to be an option.
There will probably be, instead, degrees of compromise from which to pick.
As for the fate of Fereldan. I don't know. I'm not actually sure about the current state of it. Haven't seen it first hand since the end of Awakening and years and years have passed.
As for Orlais...I thinking that there will be a chance to strengthen it by ending the civil war or leaving it various states of disarray, making it vulnerable to invasion.
Well, isn't the thread about TME and its relation to DAI? Orlais and the elves should be the focus of it.I dislike how the fate of the elves dominates this debate. What about the fate of Orlais and Ferelden? And the dwarves. The mages, maybe even the templars?
