Hey everyone, i need some help here:

I live in Chile, South America, and I had the opportunity to pre-order the collectors edition of ME2 thanks to a realtive who lives in the USA; however, she will hand me my LE when she arrives here in February 14th, a rather long wait.
If I rent the game from a local Blockbuster, and play it normally, I shouldnt have any problems activating the Cerberus network and the bonuses included in my LE later, right?
I just dont want to wait this much, and Id rather have confirmation that I can just play the game early wiithout any issues coming up later when I try to activate my bonuses.
Its a stupid question, but id rather be safe than sorry.

I dont believe you will have a problem. As long as you lets say. Beat the game and once you get the CE edition NG+ is up after you DL the DLC. Shouldnt be a problem

The Creberus Network is a single use code you have to put in, so i doubt you will have any problems with it when you finally get it and put it in.

txs, I was a bit concerned, but i suppose I will be able to activate cerberus and download my content and play it anytime then.

Its either that or wait 3 weeks...which i doubt i'll be able to.

Yeah, I think it's tied (a) to your gamertag/account and (B) to your harddrive/system. Any disc will probably work.

Working at blockbuster, I know that when we get any dlc in the game we keep them and do not accompany them with the game, solely because it would be too clunky. So you may be outta luck

Hey, i have no interest activating the DLC of the rental game (that would be akin to stealing); I just wondered if there would be any issues with playinga rented game and afterwards activating my owb copy's cerberus network dlc.

Yeah, Capone666, I don't think he's asking for the code that comes with the Blockbuster DLC. He's just wondering if he can play the game with a Blockbuster disc, then switch to his CE once he finally gets it and add the DLC then. Totally fine. Another option, assuming his friend in the States can email him the codes, he could probably unlock HIS codes that were purchased with his CE even though he was playing on the blockbuster disc (while waiting for his own disc to be shipped to him). I highly doubt that anything is tied or linked to the disc. It's tied to the user account and hard-drive.

So you think it's tied to the account not the physical disc?

It's tied to your Bioware account like Dragon Age. (The account you are using currently)

You redeem the codes on this site and log in to the account in the game and you have the content.

I think so. I think you need to have the disc to play the game, but all the data and info is stored on the harddrive, and the DLC is linked to the gamertag account through which you activate the codes. I could be wrong (not a Dev) but I'm 99% sure that's the way the system works. I'm basing this off discussions about the way the savegames work, how copying data from one HD to another works, and how getting credit for the DragonAge Armor and ME Galaxy content works. I don't think it has anything to do with the disc.

The rental doesn't bring any codes (I really doubt that the rental company would leave that in).

Just ask your relative to give you your codes over the phone/internet so you can plug them into your EA account. After that you should be good.
