Why would I feel a sense of loyalty to a country that reeks of wet dog and garbage?

I mean I kinda wonder how many people went pro-Legion in Skyrim simply because the past 4 games involved saving the Empire.

I know a few people said it felt wrong tearing down something they built up in past games.

I did and I haven't even played any of the previous games ;)

Some people say that the human inuisitor may have Ferelden origin and it really makes me sad. Didn't we arleady have enough of this wed dog reeking country? Besides, I think that human noble form Orlais would be much more interesting to play as.

If I have to chose, I'd like a Nevarran background for my human PC.
Between Ferelden and Orlais I couldn't honestly care which backgrounds we'll get.

Considering that ferelden is as far most decent and sane country that we saw and heard (still it have some flaws) when orlais and tevinter are giggling villains and as far pure corruption i prefer ferelden over them. But as always im loyal only to myself however, i can see  potential and benefit in progressing ferelden.

No, not really...

I mean, my 'main Warden' was a mage and I feel like that excludes her/them from nationality, somewhat. And for my 'main Hawke' I consider him more of a Free Marcher/Kirkwaller (and said so in the King Alistair quest).

That said, if the option is present I will make sure Ferelden stays its own nation - did enough mucking about in Origins that I don't want it overrun by other countries.

Either way I've always been more interested in Orlais (well, primarily Orlais, Tevinter to a lesser extent) than Ferelden.

This backwater wet dog smelling country has no loyatly from me! Only beloved Tevinter has my loyalty and Orlais but only for masks.

Besides FERELDANS ARE FILTHY TURNIPS!

I have no loyalty for any country in Thedas. And I'm weary of Ferelden.

My characters, however, hold different beliefs depending on who they are.

The only human nation that sounds appealing and not full of corrupt a-holes would be Rivain.  Too bad they're hardly subject material or plot intensive.

It'll have a spot as the place where I was introduced to the series, but outside of that, not anymore than I'm "loyal" to Eden Prime. :P

My country of choice would be Tevimter, so I would like to support that.

No.

For me it all depends on where the character is from, and/or who they are pledged to.

No.  My Warden was a Prince of Orzammar, so that's really where he was "from".  Given that all but one of my Wardens were dwarves, I feel more loyalty to Orzammar than anywhere else.  The time that a dwarf Warden spends in Ferelden is only about 3 or 4 years of their life across all of the DA: O content.

While Hawke was Ferelden, we don't really spend very much time with him/her there, so it does nothing to add to my feelings of "loyalty" to Ferelden.  If anything, Hawke "feels" like a Marcher since that's the way that we really got to know him.  I mean, he spent almost a decade there and we played him for that whole time.

Depends on if my character is from Fereldan or not.

That is how I played Hawke. I chose dialogue options that indicated he had a soft spot for refugees from Ferelden, and tried to aid or defend them at every available oppurtunity, but beyond that he was a loyal Kirkwaller. I saw him as being ultimately loyal to his adopted city-state.

I'll probably go a similar route with the Inquisitor if the plot is heavily tied up in the political intrigue of Orlais. I'll probably have him pledged to Empress Celene if the opportunity presents itself, and thus loyal to Orlais, even if not Orlesian by birth.

My Cousland Warden is a Fereldan patriot and my Hawke was nostalgic about Fereldan and by Act 3 kinda wanted to leave Kirkwall and go back. If Trevelyan or whatever the human Inquisitor is named is really Fereldan then they would be looking to make sure it has good standing when the Fade Tear crisis is over.

My Warden is the Prince-Consort of Ferelden so because of that I partially do, But my Inquisitor doesn't have a reason to really care about Ferelden so I dont plan on him being loyal to it.
I like Ferelden since it has so much potential to flourish and become a powerful and respected nation (Starting to happen now with Anoras university and Amaranthine becoming a trade power that Kirkwall considers a big threat)
So I like it because of its potential, but as it is now not really. Its A feudal monarchy for one which is terribad, its nobles are particularly stupid so them having power and authority is troublesome (They've fought wars over A tree ffs) So I hope the crown brings the nobles to heel and deprives them of all power and authority, that'd be swell.
Its a backwater and laws are poorly enforced, plus it smells of wet dog =P

When it gets it crap sorted, which I have faith it will then I will have more love and respect for Ferelden. Atm though I'm liking the sound of this Kingdom of Nevarra

...No...it smells of wet dog ^^ (not that I dislike the Mabari)

I don't feel any loyalty to Ferelden because IMO it is the least interesting country in Thedas (all others have more going for them, be it Nevarra with it's dragonslaying royal family (and it's fights with Orlais), Tevinter with it's very powerfull mages (who are not chantry-whipped into submission - not that I am a fan of slavery, mind you), Orlais with it's bards, power struggles etc. or even the Free Marches with the city-states there)...and it is a third rate power to boot (they only won against Orlesian occupation because the Orlesian morale was down (they dislike the country and their leader in the fight against King Marric was an idiot with cruel tendencies, too), they were stretched to thin (they had other conflicts to fight in, too) and occupying Ferelden was probably not worth it in the end anyway (!)

So:

NO!

I would love to see it again, yes - to see places in it we have not yet seen, like the town that Loghain ruled over or the Mage-Prison there (would love to go there!).

I still would consider other places more interesting though :)

greetings LAX

Proud Dog Lord.

All Wardens are from the geographical location so yes, I will support Ferelden as much as possible.

Choices by All Hawkes always supported Ferelden and our people even in Kirkwall.

Folks from Ferelden have had a hard time of late.  If my Inquisitor can do something good for them he/she will.

Now a Qunari Inquisitor might not!  Unless they share their cookies, then I might be good.
