**Since I haven't seen the PAX video, I can't confirm if a dev actually stated that Iron Bull IS a companion, but it has been reported that that is the case. Just haven't seen it for myself.

In all honesty, I'd like a staff member to post here and give a list of Bioware-confirmed companions.

The 100% confirmed companions are Varric, Vivienne, Cassandra, Solas and Iron Bull. Iron Bull is the only one we haven't seen in the party (at least knowingly, though I think people have pointed out that he was in the first trailer and we just didn't know it was him), but he has been confirmed by multible articles.

And this ^^ is why I'd like a dev to step in and list the 100% (already) confirmed companions, because forumites are also confused as to who has actually been officially announced from the very mouths of Bioware reps.

 

I sincerely doubt they'd show Solas on official images of the game as a party member and end up saying 'yeah, you know that guy? Not a party member like you thought'. But sure, getting an updated official list from a dev doesn't hurt.

solas is confirmed, we are unsure about the warden and sera... as well as the other 2 vacant slots...

With how much has been said about Solas and all of the comments and the screenshots and magazine reveal, I would be VERY surprised if he turned out not to be a companion. 

 

Was Sera ever confirmed outside of the magazine? Iron Bull was confirmed at PAX, right?

Yes, IB was specifically referenced when they talked about different weapons you could use.

we all want that, but it won't happen. Developers don't like revealing all the details early.

Yes, OP, trust me; it's not like the devs "forgot to tell us." If they want you to know, they will tell you. They have already told us about Varric, Cassandra, and Vivienne. You can visit the BioWare blog if you only want truly, truly official information. 

 

Otherwise, devs are not going to respond to personal requests

They will confirm another companion this Friday (I think)    so that should clear up some things.

If a dev posts in this thread it'll likely be to taunt you about your request OP, not to fulfill it. That way they can gather more fan tears to increase their power.

I'm asking for a list of confirmed companions. Confirmed. Meaning already revealed. But I want it from a dev, not from fans.

 

Well, unfortunately, I am not a dev, but the only ones I can think of that BioWare has officially said are companions are Varric, Cassandra, and Vivienne.

 

Everyone else is speculation from magazine articles or PAX East panel write-ups (which is a secondhand way of saying BioWare "said" something), an old survey, concept art, etc. Some have strong evidence, but they've not come out of the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Indeed. That doesn't make him any less suggested.
