Way too forced. It seems like they Googled recent gaming controversies and threw a reference in for the sake of trying to claim 'nerd credibility.'

Not particularly funny, though amusing. A little sad for the legacy of the series... it's usually one of the first things mentioned when you talk about Mass Effect.

Heh - coming up on Dragon Age: 40 unique endings... including the new "lilac with a hint of peach" and our latest creation the "pearlescent purple and orange" spectral explosions. Also available via DLC in matt and gloss paint finishes.

Actually, it has been clarified that the game game will have 4 (or 3, can't remember) different endings, with 40 variations

Which hopefully will amount to more than "will I get the regular slide or the slide with weird green circuitry on everyone?"

I dunno if this is any more significant than all those The Sopranos' ending jokes we saw a few years back. Those jokes worked because even people who never watched the show were likely to have heard about the ending controversy.

(FWIW, I think The Sopranos' ending was a good deal more successful than ME3's.)

The Sopranos' ending was also clever, something that Mass Effect didn't have going for it. While it was initially controversial, most of the complaints about the Sopranos' ending were from people who didn't understand it and thought that nothing happened.

I guess I expected it to be funnier, or better written.

Now that I've actually seen an episode, I must say the show is quite funny. This particular scene was just a very bad first impression.

Some, but not all.

I'm pretty sure just about everybody took to Bioware's defense.  Except for that one guy writing game reviews for Forbes.

Which really says a lot.

Anyway I found this amusing.  Mostly because I do the same thing.  "That was disappointing... but at least it wasn't Mass Effect 3 levels of disappointing".  Let's me be somewhat more positive.

Well, they didn't say it was disappointing, just that the choices were pointless.

That is actually how Dragon Age:Origins is but with only 15 variations.
I can't believe people are still hung up about this.It is called move on.I had only a problem with theme change last minute but besides that it was alright.Want a fucked up ending go play Mafia 2 or better yet Assassin's Creed 3.

I finally caught up with this series.

I wish I had watched it sooner. This is one of the funniest shows on TV.

I suppose plugging a good show makes this socially responsible necromancy.

This is more of an example of how Mass 3 will forever be remembered.

For you and others, but thanks the goddess not for all.

Goodness, this thread is from a year ago!

But yeeeeeah, ME3 is definitely remembered more for its ending negativity than anything else as far as the masses go. Of course thats not the case for some hardcores and casuals that enjoyed it, but the prevailing opinion stands.

Feels like the show is trying too hard to prove its relevancy with the geek community. Like adults from those Teenick shows saying "yo" and "dog" to try and prove they can be "hip" like the young people. If they wanted the joke to be effective it needed to be done during the year ME3 came out. By now the only people still on the ME3 ending hate train seriously need to see someone who can help them with their "moving on" issues.

The series is hilarious. The Mass Effect joke was probably one of the least funny bits of that season.

Well Big Head IS kinda useless. I mean, it wasn't that funny, but the comparison was accurate.
