According to:
https://profile.ea.com/login.do
They are going to merge profile.ea.com accounts into Origin.
The potential issue is, I already have an Origin account with the same e-mail address and EA ID. For some reason profile.ea.com and Origin, despite sharing the same e-mail address and ID, appear to have little to do with one another currently. There are some items attached to the profile.ea.com account that don't match the information in my Origin\Bioware account. For example, the profile.ea.com account lists the following as a "persona" that is linked to it: DA2_6321926596871088793987400687. This appears to be some kind of Dragon Age 2 data. However, I don't have any Dragon Age II information currently associated with my Origin account nor my Bioware account (which have since been merged together) because I never got around to linking that copy of Dragon Age II to my accounts. After installing and finishing that copy of Dragon Age 2 I subsequently displaced the disc (it has been a tumultous time since I last played DA2, I've had to move more than a few times) and the computer it was installed on died a very sad and tragic death. As such, I have recently purchased a new copy of DA2 and plan to link that one to my Origin/Bioware account in short order.
I also have another "Persona" entry listed in my profile.ea.com account, 6346745178713317685952828904886, which I'm assuming is some kind of Dragon Age: Origins data (since it seems to share a very similar numeric structure compared to the DA2 identifier). I also previously had a copy of DA:O that ended up suffering the same fate as my copy of DA2. I have also recently purchased a new copy of DA:O that I also plan to link to my Origin/Bioware account.
Strangely, profile.ea.com does list a "Persona" for Mass Effect 3 that matches the current and correct entry for Mass Effect 3 under "Game Specific Identities" in my Origin account, although I haven't logged into my profile.ea.com account in literally several years and I have only worked with Mass Effect 3 through Origin. As such, this seems to indicate there is some connection between the profile.ea.com account and my Origin account. However, if that's true, why does my Mass Effect 3 data show up in my profile.ea.com account, but my old DA2 & DA:O personas/indentifiers from profile.ea.com don't show up in Origin?
When profile.ea.com and Origin accounts merge what will happen regarding the two sets of DA2 & DA:O data, one of which exists at profile.ea.com, and a new one that will exist on Origin once I link my new copies to it? Will they be able to co-exist? Will one displace another? Will it rip a hole in the fabric of spacetime? From what I understand Origin accounts only allow one copy of game data to exist on any given Origin account at any given time. I don't want to link my new copies only to have them displaced/wiped out by the old copies of DA:O and DA:2 linked to my profile.ea.com account which I can no longer play/access.
I tried to contact EA regarding this and no one seemed to know anything about anything regarding this situation (shock of shocks, I know...) so I'm hoping someone from Bioware can help clear this up, put me in contact with someone who can get the information I need, or at least point me in the right direction to get answers to the above before potential calamity strikes.
