Note: I am from europe, so I really have no patience for prudish americans (not that all of you guys are like that!)

We're not. I've seen your TV while traveling to your side of the Pond (Atlantic). Even on cable, where presumably they can get away with a lot, there are very few U.S. networks willing to go where some of your European TV shows do. Y'all watch some racy stuff.

Can't get why, but even on U.S. cable, which is not broadcast, body parts are still hazed out, words bleeped, if there's a hint of sensuality it's got to be on after 10 PM, strange stuff like that.

I wish American censors would allow us to watch the kind of stuff you have in Europe - personally.

Unless you get HBO, in which case characters will deliver monologues while getting blowjobs.

On a side note, Al was quite the sweet talker. Dat romance!

number 4 if you please (why try to make something artificially artsy? why hide what adults know anyway? - these games are for grown men and women, not (small) children after all)

I really don't get it - how can there still be any debate (how can there still be so many uptight prudes out there?) about something like this, it's not the afternoon children's channel on TV after all (!)

Note: I am from europe, so I really have no patience for prudish americans (not that all of you guys are like that!)

greetings LAX

ps: no, i don't use the games as porn of some kind, but hiding something that should be as natural as breathing is something that SICKENS ME TO THE CORE (how inhibited/fridgid are you? - note: talking to those that are ok with children playing games with gore but if a nipple is seen think the world might end *shakes his head in frustration while muttering about prudes*)

Well I for one don't want to see awkward pixel porn.

Nothing about being prudish simply don't want porn in my games. I have the internet for such things.

This is what the developers say about sex scenes coming up in Inquisition:

http://www.forbes.co...on-mass-effect/

So it looks like a middle ground between 2 and 3.  Which is fine by me, as it's not full on nudity (which I don't want) nor the "giving each other the 1000 yard stare while in our underclothes" look from Origins.  I still find it funny that Morrigan basically had to put on a bra for sex.

What makes me laugh however is the fact that Morrigan put on more clothes than she took off.

Us Americans have it right on some things, not so right on others. Different cultures and all. It's nothing to get that worked up about though. I'd just rather they put more resources into the actual game than some crappy pixellated sex scene that does nothing for me like in The Witcher. I've got nothing against it, but it just seems kind of pointless. Besides, the vast majority of people here in the U.S. who are against all the in-game nudity are the same people who freak out about excess violence too.

I support the sounds of sexual ecstasy played over a minute long video of a power drill driving in a carpenter's screw on a plank attached to nothing.

I think that'll make everyone happy.

I would be happy with any of them except for #1. However, I did like how in the "fade to black" sex scenes they showed them kiss a lot and make their way to the bed, so maybe they could do that and fade to black but when it comes back up they are having sex like in the #2, #3 or #4 option. (preferably not #2)

I have a good enough imagination to figure out what happens next.  And it can be as vague or as detailed as I want ;)

So long as it plays out tastefully and acknowledges that my Inquisitor is a male or a female during the scene. You should be be able to choose what you want to do in the sack like what positions you want to do and if you want to use condoms or not...there should also be references to condoms like in Fable 2/3, declining to use them would get a "naughty boy/girl" response with a smirk from the LI.

Oh and no weird sex/"O" faces on the inquisitor...my Aedan made the most bizarre face during coitus, he looked like that "problem?" troll image.

In thief you were forced to watch and hear people have sex in a ****** house for a m8ssion.

Then there heavy rain, which contained an interactive sex scene all because you chose to have a kiss :-/

Preferably none, because a fade to black works for me, but, if they 'are' going to show it, then . . . show it. The underwear thing we've seen a few Bioware 'romance scenes' looked silly. There was also a very strange disconnect between the ME3 Liara scenes and the, "I'm still wearing my underwear" or "I have the exact same body texture as Shepard" scenes of everyone else.

So, yeah, my basic preference is just a fade to black, but, if they're going to show them at all then go with the tasteful camera angles that 'suggest' nudity without actually showing it because the underwear thing annoyed as much as actual nudity would have annoyed me.

I prefer they take the ME3 Liara approach.  Dark lighting in the proper places, and camera angles that do the censoring for them.  The underwear thing always seemed odd and out of place to me in both the DA and ME series during those moments.  ME1 romance scenes and ME3 (Liara's scene) I think did it right, and with taste without going overboard.

Actual answer: So long as its decently tasteful and there isn't a whole of empathsis on them. I mean you need love and emotional points to play a role. To jump right to the sex seems shallow. And I feel if that's all people care about, I think it should just be implied.

Troll Answer: Like Ride to Hell retribution.

Of all the games I've played that have had romance scenes, I think Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 3 did it best.

I just don't want option 3 with Underwear sex, those scenes were kinda of awkward. It was like "great my characters don't know how to do it" lol

I just want the Romance scene to make sense but prefer priority in option 2 or 4 for the romance scenes.

I prefer the Austin Powers Clever angles pick because it takes some clever cinematography to pull off. As someone who likes clever cinematography it is awesome and it can get away with more than the Undies option.

No underwear sex. Please. Never again.

Mass Effect I's sex scenes were well-done, as far as "nude without being distasteful/obscene" goes. I'll take Fade to Black as well.

Just...no underwear.

I'd prefer fade-to-black. I'd also prefer sex to be optional in a romance. In DAII if you don't have sex with your love interest, then it ends the romance, so I don't want that again. :P

Option 2 is definitely out. That method feels super corny and antiquated.

Any of the other three would be good depending on the art direction and mood, which are more important by far than the amount of skin shown. A scene can be highly erotic and fulfilling without showing any nudity, but covering up just for the sake of prudishness breaks the fourth wall. My natural inclination is toward a more intimate, boundary-pushing scene, because I feel like in too many media representations there's a broad acceptance of brutal violence and gore and a tabooization of intimacy and sexuality, which is such an inversion of how real people live their lives.

Anything, as long as it doesn't involve ridiculous underwears. <_<

So, number 3 by far, fade to black is a little boring for me.

LOL @ number 4, if there will be full female nudity, then there should be full male as well for the straight ladies and gay guys. It's only fair.
