I'd gravitate to 3 or 1. I think you can have an emotional/physical impact with the score, lighting, good writing, voice acting etc. It doesn't have to be explicit and I doubt Bioware would go that way. I'm encouraged, tbh, by what they've already said about the direction they're thinking of going.
What kind of sex scene would you prefer in Inquisition?

I would prefer 3 its more tasteful and fits a bioware game but at the same time a Developer and a publisher has every right to shake things up a bit and go different route.

I just got done an Origins replay and I would like to reiterate that I don't really care as long as they never ever have music that awkwardly goofy during the sex scenes ever again. My daughter and I spent the entire time giggling.

fade to black once they hit the bed like in da2 but with a cut to varric at the campsite and the other companions listening with facial expressions ranging from utter horror/disgust to very interested. everybody turning and staring when the inquisitor and li show up.
failing that i's take option 1 or 3 (given that 3 isn't as super male-gazy like me1 was...)

None at all, because they are held up as an reward to the player. Rather then being something that actually adds to the relationship. You seek the desired character, agree with him or her (or disagree as DA2 would have it) on a multitude of things until a meter is completely filled to the targeted point. Then you're rewarded with the awkward sex scene, and that's that. There's no emotion, it's just dull and it feels like there's no real meaning to it.

ME1 n ME3 are prob the best examples of how to handle them i think, the DA titles to date offer nothing for me personally where as i thought that in me1 n me3 they were spot on an that it added to the side story/progression of your char, the DA series so far just make them awkward childish moments that should never have been put in the game to begin with.
I'm fine with whatever they go for though as i've always got me trusted spacebar tbh

Regardless of personal preferences, I feel the "fade to black because they never get it right and/or it doesn't add anything" is rather misguided -- obv. they're never going to 'get it right' if they don't even get to experiment with the subject.

Most sex scenes in video games are awkward enough they might as well be all narrated by Gilbert Gottfried.
This is what they should do.
Fade to black, and then have Gilbert Gottfried describe each position in lurid detail.

#3. This was how they did it in ME1, and that still remains the most tasteful and arousing sex scene BioWare has ever done.
DA:O's was really awkward, ME2 left you wondering if anything actually happened with a few characters, DA2 was about the same as ME2 with a better sense of mood and time, and ME3 was okay but still left you wondering why BW didn't just go one step further and do tasteful nudity again.
