A poorly written audio book narrated by the worst possible person?
It seems hardly fair to hold it up as some sort of standard.
That was a joke.

Hey, no kinkshaming!
Not the straight ones.

I guess they could be curve ones too, if you close your eyes a little bit.

This comment isn't the first thing one wants to see when they click on a thread about sex scenes, let's just say that. ![]()

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a curve.
That was a joke.
Was it? Is hard to tell on the Internet. Especially when the guy saying it uses a Stannis avatar.

I do not know but it seems to be in the right topic.
As for the thread, fade to black is the best. Or some quick shots. I really hate the underwear thing and the awkward mannequins. Also to much male gaze.
I say #2 and #3 would be best in my opinion.
In my opinion from best (top) to worst (bottom)
1) #3
2)#2
3)#4
4)#1
Romance scenes in games are really corny. I really don't understand what's the luster... most of you peeps are all about your personal headcanon, so why bother?
I think we're past the point of full frontal nudity being a mortal sin in video games, but I can't say the same for the ignorant board members who rate these games and those damn parents who go bat crazy insane when they find out that the game they bought their kiddies turn out to have "vulgar images" in them.
I think the romance scenes should be as realistic as possible, without crossing the line of it being equivalent to soft pornography, cause well, that just makes everyone a little awkward.
But in the end though, I'd much rather have the build up to the romance scenes to be worked on and the relationship between the characters. The sex scene should be the icing on the cake for a well developed romance.

We're past the point of boobs being a mortal sin. A thick, veiny dick in a videogame will be the fastest way to an AO rating imaginable.
You may have missed my joke
Anyway, what do you mean by too much male gaze?
I think they are referring to Miranda and the butt shots, among other things.

The ridiculous camera angles positioned just to get a shot of Miranda's backside were probably the most gratuitous content of the entire series. Which is funny, because the nudity in ME1 that caused an uproar was not gratuitous or vulgar at all.

It's scenes like Miranda's that make me doubt nudity would be handled well at all.

Miriam-Webster, on pornography:
"the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement"
I agree, they shouldn't have pornography. The only time a sex scene has had any relevance other than titillation in a Bioware game was in the ME games, with it adding to the buildup, the climax if you will (no pun intended), of the plot. Dragon Age has not done this, and has no intention of doing this (because the romance is separate from the plot).
So a fade to black it is, then.
Edit: to be clear, by "sex scene" I mean "sex scene," not "romance scene." DA ]['s romance scene was infinitely better than DA:O's sex scene, because one was a cookie-cutter scene who's only purpose is to say, "look! two people having sex!" while the other actually shows the LI's character a little bit. That doesn't happen in most game sex scenes, it's just meaningless humping. The fade to black combines character development with a lack of pornography.
Fade to black. Blood, alcohol and violence are enough for a mature rating, especially if the blood can look as "real" as what we're seeing in the trailers.
Must there be sex scenes? Can't we just hug? Maybe hold hands as we stroll through a foreboding swamp.

Made me think of the Forest of Despair:

Anything bringing us closer to Princess Bride is a good thing. ![]()

Yes. We need kids. Who will rule Inquisition then our Inquisitor will die. Well we could use some magical rituals to become immortal but mostly rituals require to kill or harm other people and I play as chaotic good so it's not option for me.
