But honestly I would trade all Bioware sex scenes for additional cuddles/romance.
Same!

Of the different styles, I think I preferred DA2's fade to black after a kiss. What more do you possibly need to convey what's happening? It seemed the most classy, to me.
I found the Witcher style to be incredibly jarring and gratuitous, and kinda tacky. Does anyone really need to watch their cartoons having simulated sex? ![]()
An engine is only as good as the people using it. And I don't think animating convincing sex scenes is actually a priority for them. (Or maybe someone will throw in some extra night hours for them...)As for those people who are concerned about "seeing too much", maybe there could be a switch similar to "gore" switches in the options: "just fade to black"/"Be tasteful"/"Show me everything"...?
Fine (as in, no preference one way or another) with any of them except #2, which is just...bad.
I will say that #4 is extremely unlikely, regardless of how many people clamour for it.
How about....interactiiiiive???
I'm kidding. By the way, a lot of these comments have me rolling on the floor. I thought ME3 sex scenes were well done and probably the ones I'd like to see similarly done in DAI.
Most of the ME3 ones were well done. (Except the fully dressed shower with Traynor...oh, and in the Citadel DLC...going to bed with Garrus in his nice dress suit and waking up with him in full amour. I can imagine Garrus going alll "I need to slip into something a bit more sexy...my battlegear before doing the nookiefuntimes with Shep)
So if DAI goes that route or something like Anders or Isabela from DA2, I'll be happy.

Of all the things... Romancing a companion is all you need, I don't play Dragon Age for sex scenes. If I wanted to play a game for sex scenes I will play an eroge.
The original Mass Effect handled it's romance scenes the best, IMO. They were tasteful. So anything to that effect would be fine with me.

Nobody here has said that they play Dragon Age specifically for the sex scenes.
That doesn't mean we can't talk about how they handle them better than they traditionally have.

I thought it worked very nicely in ME1.
Fade to black. I'm not a fan of watching polygons make out
In order 3, 1, 4, 5, 2, where 5 is let's just not have a sex scene at all. I always feel when I see them humping valiantly away in their underwear I should escort the poor sods to one side and give the birds and the bees talk.

Omg that reminds me of the Better Sex mod for DAO, where they would press their faces against each other's underwear... Ohhhh boy.
I wouldn't mind demonstrating the correct, erm, procedures...

If it's number 4 then I want to see a sausage for every 2 buns we have, cause we can't make a hot dog otherwise.
^That comment was totally the high point of my crappy day.
I would probably choose #3. I would like to see something like in ME1. I think that it was very nicely done.

I prefer fade to black,
3 - if there has to be a scene
4 - no.
1. Or if the animations are good, 3 is also fine. 2 is cringingly awkward, 4 also comes off as awkward to me. Also, it's only ever the lady bits you get to see so it seems more like a case of 'hey boys, look! Bewbs!' than an actual attempt at a realistic sex scene.
I don't know which of those I'd prefer, but I'll take anything over Origins romance scenes because they were sooooooo awkward. DA2 wasn't as bad, little repetitive though.
I think that the romance scenes should be custom-fitted to match the tone and feel of the progression in the relationship, whatever that may entail for a given romance plot.
I'm certainly not clamoring for full frontal nude scenes in the game, but I don't think they should shy away from nudity if it is appropriate to a scene, either. They've previously used nudity for the purpose of disgust and horror with the broodmothers and especially the Mother herself; I think there's something wrong with them being willing to do that while being unwilling to show nudity in a positive light.
A tasteful 3.
