I'm fine with any of the options, as long as it's not number 4. If I want to see porn, I'm gonna go and watch porn, not play a Bioware game. Not to mention that it's just horribly awkward to watch and can feel like they're objectifying the characters. (Especially the female ones if we take The Witcher as an example.)
What kind of sex scene would you prefer in Inquisition?

3 or 1, the others... no. The DA:O and Witcher 2 scenes were so awkward that I always skipped.
I feel kinda weird watching my character actually do the deed on screen (those awkward, slow movements and terrifying faces), but tastefully done action leading up to and following sex is A-OK. If the scenes are not to my liking I can always skip them again anyway, no biggie.
I don't care about them being butt naked, there are stuffs I could find in real life for that, but what I want is the passion.
Bingo! Get that down and I don't care what they are or are not wearing.

I'd say number 3.
I concur with the Doctor's analysis.

For me, it's less about how much is shown, and how much I feel like the scene shows how the characters feel about each other/how they interact.
So, for example, I was one of the people that didn't really like the Mass Effect 1 sex scene. ("Scene" because it's mostly just the one animation reused over and over.) For one thing, I did feel like it was animated mostly with the idea that men were playing, regardless of Shep's gender. (I'm bisexual, so it's not that I don't like seeing a naked woman--it's more that, when a scene goes out of its way to hide the guy's body, but puts the woman's body on display, it really feels like only one of them is meant to be seen as attractive and sexual, and it was jarring. When I got to that scene with Kaidan, it was sort of a reminder that I wasn't playing a game that assumed I was the main audience, and it took me right out of the scene.)
And really, the reason why that happened in the first place is because they reused the animation regardless of what character you were romancing, so it comes down to the scene being cookie cutter--so that's the real problem. Because of this, the only BW sex scenes I've seen that I like less are the Origin ones. For all of the reasons mentioned here.
I don't mind fade to black like in the DA2 scenes. Actually I preferred them much more to Origins--every single one reflected the individuality of the character that was your love interest, and furthered their story and Hawkes' story. That made them feel much more like a part of the overall story, rather than just a reward for giving the right lines to make a character like you. Most of Mass Effect 2's and 3's scenes I like for the same reasons. (Although I thought the rolling-around-on-the-bed scene with Kaidan was pretty silly. But...the rest of it was just fine and definitely felt like it was more about the relationship between the characters than just the sex, and it still wasn't as jarring to me as ME1 or as awkward as anything from Origins.)
So, yeah, really I don't care how much clothes they have on or how much they show, as long as it's tasteful and the real point is to show the interplay between the characters rather than putting on a show for the player.

I dont like those options.
There should be a sex minigame using Tower of Hanoi!
Bioware has to fit it in somewhere right?
-That was a joke btw...the mere thought of a Tower of Hanoi puzzle is just sick and wrong.

I take Number 3 over 1 and 2 any day of the week, month, and year! Number 3 is the way too go for sure; tasteful and mature but unique to each character. I'd be fine with 4 but you know how people are...Fox News would jump all over this.

I have always preferred the good ol' fade to black. I have no need to see these characters writhe around on top of each other, clothed or not.

Option 1 is fine with me.
Option 2 seems a bit childish, and Origins sex scenes looked like muppet sex to me.
Option 3 sounds like the best course of action.
Option 4 is a bit umm.... excessive.

He doesn't, but Akuma does.
If he wants balls of steel, he needs to either train more kung fu or get one from a Miley Cyrus's video.

I have never played The Witcher so i googled like the OP said, wow i didn` know it was so full on . I think option 3 is the best , done tastefully you wouldn`t have to see any thing but we would know that they weren`t in their undies .

Oh, the infamous topic.
#3.
I don't want to sound like a pervert or anything, but I'd like the scenes to be longer than 10 seconds. And definitely a lot more post- sex dialogue.
But chances are it's going to be fade to black anyway, sooooo
Funny enough the bold is my first thought as well.
Don't care, don't need the pixel porn, but if they do make it tasteful and a few hump scenes
Honestly would rather hear the pillow talk than the "deed" itself.

Yeah it took me ages to figure out who that was.
I never bought any DLC for DA2.
Not saying I would actually use the no-sex option. But more options for anything is always better.

Do you mean in games, or in all media?
Actually I was was talking about Bioware games, but I could say the same thing for all media. I see mentionned the ME3 Liara scene quite often, but I find the sex scene itself really shallow compared to the heartwarming dialogues before and after.
I like Bioware romances...or rather I like the human relations the character can have in general, it adds humanity to the PC...but when I know two people are together, I don't really need to see them going at it. Especially in a video game where it becomes quickly all kinds of awkward (good lord that outdoor sex in the middle of the camp in DAO) or even hilariously ridiculous (Samantha, just....Samantha) which kinda defeats the purpose of a sex scene.
