As the title states, who would you prefer on the Orlesian throne?
Celene or Gaspard

It depends on the character I'm playing, and how Celene and Gaspard act in DAI.
I can see myself siding with both of them.

After reading TME, I really didn't think either of them were the right fit. I am hoping DAI can sway me one way or the other. They are both interesting characters, but I don't like either of them for the throne. One has what the other has not, and then there is still some things missing. I do think Gaspard is more likely to be true to his word, however. Whether one likes what he has to say or not.

We could always put allistair on another throne... yeah dont recommend that...  id like celene due to the fact that she can play the political side well even if she did screw it up.... gaspard, well i like him in the honor department, but i dont think he has what is needed to rule...

Similar to the Elder King, it would depend on the main character in question (if I pursue the Orlesian conflict storyline), and what incentive each contender might provide to my respective Inquisitor for support in gaining the throne.

This is what I thought as I read TME also. Neither really grabbed my attention for being good for the throne. Both have their flaws.

Probably Celene for 1st play through, don't see Gaspard jiving with a qunari. I think best result would be them reconciling.

Probably Celene, although I have to admit, a part of me would love to see Gaspard (or anyone) annihilate Ferelden.

Celene. She brought the empire back from the brink of collapse and seems to be capable of genuinely caring for her people. She holds education in high esteem, prefers diplomacy to needless violence and is prepared to make personal sacrifices to do what is best for all of her people. 

 

She's clearly no saint, but she is also not a monster.

I don't know and I won't decide before the game. I'm only at page 160 in the Masked empire. But Gaspard is definitely awesome. Before reading the book, I thought I would side easily with Celene, but the more I read, the more I love Gaspard much more. 

 

 Celene appeals to me too,, but I didn't like at all how she could be easily influenced by her love... ( Briala is awesome too though )

I see that as one of her strengths. A good ruler can't be too nice. She should have an iron fist in a velvet glove.

I'm hoping for an option to eliminate the both of them and put someone more sensible on the throne. Otherwise, I don't know. Gaspard hates the orlesian game, and that give him a lot of points in my book, while at the same time he is an backward noble, wereas Celene is more progressive and willing to improve the life of her lot.
