I roll with a 6/6/6/5/3 build with a GPS ... slap omni-capacitors gear on with disruptor ammo on and you're good to go.

GPS just about staggers anything and does healthy damage.

Turret flamer evo primes for fire explosions.

It's just a really good, solid, versatile kit basically... only downside in using the GPS is that I need low-latency hosts, or to host myself of course.

I rolled out with GPS last night and got my first 25 shotgun kills-I think-I never really use Shotguns, I tend to like pistols and AR's, then tried with the Javelin-GOD I suck with Sniper Rifles, that's my next challenge getting the hang of SR...  this was on the GI, I felt  I was playing so crappy I dropped from that game...

I played two games on the GE with the GPS; I felt I helped lots, both games came in waaaaayyyy behind second.. someone was playing my Big Brother Geth Trooper and was toasting everything.. but I simply followed him around laying my turret at his or my feet and we worked well together... both Gold matches were just over 20 mins.. I then played with the GPR X added the heavy pierce and extended mag.. It felt as if I was using a water gun pew-pew-pew-pew *make a sandwich*-pew pew oh now its dead..

I could be wrong but it *felt* as if the GSMG does more damage than the GPR... I think I'll stick to the GPS at least it gives me the illusion of doing damage or use the GSMG simply because it looks good.

Talon, Indra, GPR, GPS etc on gold. Apply incendiary with weapons fire then detonate often with overload. Anything with a short cooldown, etc. Friends make great use of the Saber or Valkyrie as well but I'm not a fan of those.

Wraith on Platinum. Same strategy but here's the twist. Overload immediately when that second round leaves the barrel and viola you've got a reload cancel on steroids.

You're welcome.

I always run my GE w/ the Falcon w/ either Disruptor for TB's or Incendiary for FE's. It's one of my highest scoring kits, on avg. Especially against Cerberus, b/c he so easily renders Phantoms obsolete. I usually run a Hurricane secondary w/ the HVB for Atli.

There are lots of other ways to run him, but this is mine.

The idea of support class doesn't work on this game. It is all about DPS. You can be classy or you can be cheap, but at the end, it comes down to DPS and nothing else.

Thus my Geth Enginner is a weapons platform with some crowd control. Weapons of choice are the Lancer and PPR.

I will never understand what forces people to turn the great weapon platform into a weak "support" kit (i.e. speccing out of HM). The flamer turret?

why all the butt hurt over what I'm calling the kit when I play it? did no one read my opening paragraph when I mentioned I'm sure he can put out incredible damage under optimum conditions or did you just read the title and immediately get offended? I personally don't use a game to quantify my life and thus use end scores to justify 'how good I am'. I'm too old for that sophomoric train of thought.

the bolded statement is simply untrue.. the game, particularly MP is all about extracting on wave 11 with your team.  I've seen may matches end simply because some dope was 'all about DPS' and kept dying when we were doing objectives. IF as a support kit you're keeping the Adepts and Soldiers up and allowing them to do damage and CCing and putting up damage isn't this the same thing? again it could be simply because I'm comfortable with myself in life that I don't feel a need to be first in damage or attempt to get kill streaks by camping spawns-.

Every Gold match I've used him on-all Pugs-have completed in under 25 minutes, I see that as a win in my book as I usually don't have lots of time to dedicate playing.  I'm sure some of you l33t g4m3rs can probably solo a Gold in that time, but again that isn't my goal. The end goal of any game-be it virtual, or a sport is to win and have fun doing it, anything else takes the 'game' out of it and turns it into a chore. In ME3 MP the defined goal of 'winning' is the entire team extracting on wave 11 and everyone getting paid for their time spent.

As far as support, now perhaps I'm looking at ME3 MP with my MMO hat  on, but the entire Engineer class as a whole is designed to support a team, we as players have changed that with our play but if you look at each class skill set while-again I'm sure can be made to put out DPS-are designed to help your team. Isn't this what ME3 MP is? a team game?

Play him as you wish, but he's FAR more than just a "support" kit...

My favorite weapon on GE is the Wraith, but Talon (and Indra) are nice as well. Use hunter mode ALL THE TIME if you're specced into it!

This, this and this. I go with the Indra or the Avenger (really deadly on full auto on the GE with inc. ammo), when i'm doing avenger challenge points.

I am currently redoing my GE, but I was wondering which would be better for him on the choices of dps or healing turret. I want to make him into a Snipers platform.

I wasn't offended. I simply don't agree with you! (psst, happens alot here!)

You've voiced some lovely "team" sentiments during this thread and, while I'm sure most ppl will "agree" with  them...they may also scoff at the implication that a kit is "optimal" when played less aggressively (ie: support, etc).

Too many tryhards here I suppose  :)

Just have fun OP, because despite all the "butthurt" I think we're all having fun too, in our own way.

The internet really needs to get over its fixation on slapping the "butt hurt" label on anyone acting even remotely deviant.

I played this character with my brother who was a flamer soldier and 2 randoms 1 of whom was a juggernaut. The 3 geth had some great synergy. My turret helped with keeping us alive (jugg was invincible it seemed) and I could detonate my bros flamer resulting in nice FE's.
Was fun. I've been focusing on team support roles of late. I love Demogirl and her shield stripping arc grenades. Backed up with a mattock and either armor piercing or incendiary I seem to help quite well.
I find engineers and sentinels are my go-to kits for platinum.

Definitely gonna experiment with the geth engineer some more that's for sure!

Whatever you say. I think your butt just hurts.

Am I doing it right?

You must be new here. Welcome to BSN. It's actually mostly a pretty good crew. But the answers to your questions are:

1. There's a lot of pubstars here who are eager to demonstrate their superior knowledge of the game.

2. No. No they did not read it. They just read the title and saw an opportunity to sound smart by spamming a quick 'lol support'. FWIW, 'support' isn't all that valuable - perhaps it should have been or maybe even was meant to be, but it's not how things ended up. So that's where they're coming from, the meta that's developed here over the past two years pretty much threw the idea of support classes totally out in early 2013 or maybe even before that.

But I get it that a lot of people want to play in a team-oriented support role, and it's definitely possible to do so (even if it's not super useful most of the time). So keep on having fun playing exactly how you want to play and don't pay any attention to the haters.

I play the GE with the 4/6/6/6/4 build here, like a lot of people do.  Stronghold package and adrenaline mod or shield power cells make you pretty survivable, the turret is defensive and on the weapon front the Indra, Valiant, Hurricane, Lancer, Scorpion, Talon and Arc Pistol all work pretty well.  I haven't really tried the GSMG or GPR on him, and while I do like the GPSG on him, not being able to use wallhacks to unfairly shoot enemies does make me a sad panda.

Definitely an awesome class - very versatile and, while quite powerful, not insanely powerful like the GI is.

My most humble suggestion is to consider speccing 60666 with the geth scanner/shield cells, and the executioner pistol with hvb/pierce, and pistol amp. Overload does 2812 dmg to shields and staggers 2 enemies, the pistol does 1815 damage (4538 headshot), and shields are 1238 with 1.8 second recharge. Not a tank but very survivable without using up your cyclonics.

I'm no great skill player, but quick scoping from hard cover makes that pistol a killer across the map, and headshots to mid range easy. I don't play him CQC, but stand off in cover and deliver staggers and DPS, and use the flamethrower turret to cover flanks. And this setup is great for wallhacks with drill ammo. Elemental ammo buffs overload with tech explosions.

He would be a challenge for solos, but a great team player.

I don't understand the reasoning behind skipping Hunter Mode and then using Geth Scanner. It's one thing to skip it if it makes your eyes/head hurt, but to then use an inferior version of it when you have access to the Premium Plus™ version doesn't really make sense to me, especially when you could use a Cyclonic if the -350 shield penalty makes you that uncomfortable.

Just my take on it. You do whatever works for you.

"Support" is only a small side perk of the GE. Give it a csmg, acolyte, harrier, arc pistol, wraith etc.... Couple one of those weapons with incendiary ammo 3 or 4 and it can be almost classified as cheese in the right hands...

That means you aren't allowed to use it.
