Pls not again, I'm so tired of this crap.. I wanted to support the magister slave trade, I wanted to help them take over Kirkwall, I wanted to give them the tome of Koslun, instead I am forced to fight them over and over for no good personal reason what so ever. It's infuriating.

I wouldn't get your hopes up if I were you. They're the bad guys. You can't support the darkspawn either.

You can fight for the Sith Empire in TOR.

You can become a God Emperor in JE.

Bioware doesn't do "Bad guy" rejection offhandedly.

That's different. Darkspawn are not erm.. ''sentient'' ( maybe that's the word ) enough to support them. They are not interested in any kind of relationships with anyone except for annihilation, unlike Tevinter you can't even talk to them, they won't even accept you if you supported their ways, they would just kill you anyway.

You can however support sentient darkspawn that are free from the taint, you can talk to them, reason with them, so there.

Also there's the darkspawn chronicles. :)

Well the darkspawn are mindless lolevil enemies, whereas Tevinter isn't...... Well they are, but not to the level of darkspawn.

Supporting darkspawn just wouldn't make sense, 'tis why it isn't an option.

Should be more like SWTOR.... being evil was so refreshing <3

EDIT: first time I post in this thread and I get ninja'd -.-

Those two franchises are completely different than Dragon Age. Especially since one is a MMO with two factions. And the games need standard enemies in either case. For example, in Kotor you can become Dark Lord of the Sith and try to conquer the Republic but you can't actually help Darth Malak.

You can't help Malak because it's personal, you don't fight the sith you fight him in particular.

Most of the enemies are Sith. But it doesn't really matter why. Darkspawn want to kill you because they are mindless killing machines. Malak wants to kill you because his personal feud with the PC. Most Tevinters we've run into want to kill you too. The reasons in each case can be anything.

The reason most Tevinters want to kill us is because we play a close-minded protagonist that has no option to reason / support their ways, even when initially diplomatically confronted.

I think you're over thinking gameplay mechanics

I think I want to have civil conversations and options before I start slaughtering people left and right. I want to be able to choose between at least 2 basic options IF who ever I am speaking with is a sentient being that can be reasoned with.

Yes you could reason with the elf. Also you had a large bounty on your head.

There are always limitations in the games because you always need enemies. You can't decide that Darth Malak should rule the galaxy. You can't support Qunari rule of Kirkwall. You can't support Saren's apeasment of the Reapers. You can't support the Reapers' solution for limiting the growth of organic life.

If you really wanted to think of a reason, then the Tevinter slavers wouldn't care if you supported them or not. You'd just be potential chattel to them.

Reason with her how? I don't remember the exact dialogue, it was a while, I just remember I wasn't satisfied with the quest. Tevinter folk really care about local Ferelden bounties I'm sure.

This is why the real enemy should always be the one that you can't reason with, an enemy who's main purpose is plain destruction or complete domination. Darkspawn are a good enemy, reapers are good, Qunari are a bad enemy, Tevinter are bad. Malak is a personal quest, you don't fight the sith if you are a sith lord you fight Malak to reclaim your position and you are forced to kill sith along the way just because they serve Malak, not because you have something against them personally, then you stop when they start to serve you after Malak is dead.

If your protagonist supports self destruction, then the solution is obvious - game over.

They did, because the bounty was huge and they wanted to collect. And you could get her to bring you to the Magister.

You're expectations arent practical, the amount of time it would take to allow the PC to negotiate with every single enemy would be ridiculous. Plus in reality enemies wouldnt just be willing to listen to someone they know is their enemy

How am I their enemy in the first place?

My philosophy is neither high or low, it's just mine. Morals are subjective. Slavery happens all over the world when not even called such, one doesn't necessarily need to be an a$s to their slaves.

I wonder if your philosophy would stand, if you're the one, being enslaved. Wouldn't you make a wonderful, docile, accepting slave? Surely you can't expect to be on the top of the food chain.

I am already a slave in many ways. It doesn't necessarily have to mean that I can't enjoy my life.
