True.

Though one can romantically hope that such efforts will sustain in the long run.

It's a very big what if scenario that can go either way, I simply want the more positive outcome.

But if it must come to blows, I will be utterly merciless and vindictive.

Unfortunately there are some ideologies that just can't co-exist together period, and there is absolutely no other way to solve the conflict than bloodshed that leaves only one group alive. Qunari are incompatible with any other ways of life and cannot co-exist peacefully, it only ends in either them dominating or the Qun being obliterated.

Infact keeping the rifts open would suit tevinter .cause it seem to allow them to do stuff they normally could not do . like power boost so it stands to reason want it open forever.

If that is the case I am not closing any rifts.

Look I'm pro Tevinter but even I couldnt support an unholy alliance between the qunari and imperium.

I'm not sure how it would happen (most def blood magic) but dear maker! Could you imagine closing all the veil tears, ending the orlesian civil war, ending the MvT war and destroying the red Templars.

Only to turn around and see tevinter and qunari attacking?

All we need is varric calling dibs on the Dragon and we can reenact the final scene of Angel!

It's impossible. The Qun does not allows, Tevinter doesn't want.

I'm sure with enough blood magic the qunari will be willing puppets, their entire existence is ruled by 3 people after all.

The down side of optimisation and raising people for a singular purpose with blind obedience.

That's not an alliance and no, they still wouldn't listen to anything that contradicts the Qun, they do their homework and they would just see that their leaders have lost their way and replace them, and try to reeducate them.

I was not talking about alliance i was saying they both would see its the perfect time to take it over .after all the templars rebelled which is perfect for the qun some chantry faith in the chantry shaken of the chantry warriors rebelling. so they might may try to have em come to there side to a new religion also gaining warriors. And tevinter will see mages rebellion perfect to get on them on there side increasing there armies. both sides would be fighting to take it over it be blood and magic everywhere chaos at every turnopening rifts forever .which will suit tevinter, but be bad for par vollen cause they hate magic.

That much is obvious. I was more speaking the mages and the elves respectively.

I don't like the horn head ox-men or what they represent. It's a shame really, the Arishok and Sten are not bad guys. Cannot say the same for their compatriots.

I suspect that the only way you're going to be able to do this is if you don't buy or play the game.

I always thought one of endings would involve opening rifts forever world wide.

I don't see the difference to be fair.

So it seems the majority of people believe it's far more likely the Qunari will make a move rather then Tevinter.

They are in a much stronger position and would have more to gain by doing so.

I suspect Tevinter and Par Vollen keep each other from becoming relevant during the events of DAI.

Tevinter probably won't be.

But considering that we can be a tal vashoth Inquisitor and that the Qunari seem to be Bioware's favorite pets, I daresay we might just hear from them.

Hear from the, yes.  Both Tevinter and the Qunari will likely be in the periphery, but I doubt they will be major players in DAI.

Probably not for the vast majority of it sure. But it would not surprise me if one of them or even both become the big bads leading into the next game.

you just gave me a rather cruel Idea to make the Vashoth Mage an actual Tevinter Magister.

Now that'd be something to see. The Qunari would soil themselves at the sight of an army of them.

Who knows.

There wouldn't be much of a game otherwise. People also said "But I didn't want to be a Grey Warden!!11!" in regards to Origins. The game follows a story. The only way to not experience that story is to not play the game.

I'd say that Qunari is way more united and determined, than Tevinter. The latter has various internal political struggles, or so it seems.

Except that we already know that the Tevinter are going to have a rather strong presence in the game. Probably isn't a massive invading force but probably a task force to find out what they can. Maybe since the Inquisitor has the ability to close the rifts he/she may be able to open them as well. Something like that would be very useful for the Tevinter.

As for the war between the Qunari and the Tevinter its clear that their both rather evenly matched. The Qunari have the superior navy and a tech advantage in gunpowder (an advantage that will eventually be taken when dwarves figure out how to make it) Tevinter on the other hand has the advantage of magic.. heck they are the country that has the most magical power to throw and their enemies. They also have the superior defenses. Everyone at some point in history has tried to destroy the Tevinter but they've never done it the capital city is a rock that has never been shaken.

We know from Sten that the Tevinter also invades Par because he speaks about how his kin were killed during a Tevinter invasion but those invasions are always pushed back. Meanwhile the Qunari can't take the Tevinter capital and their lack of magic gives them a distinct disadvantage in range once they get away from their navy.  So we basically have an endless stalemate.
