Sten is from Seheron. I think that's where the Tevinter invasions he describes would have been. We know the Imperium has mounted several failed invasions to retake lost territory.
Tevinter & Par Vollen, will they make a move soon?

I'd say that Qunari is way more united and determined, than Tevinter. The latter has various internal political struggles, or so it seems.
They also lack the means and numbers apparently.
Their population from dev comments is in decline.

That's only true recently. Previously the Island has changed ownership several times. So at some point Tevinter did defeat the Qunari on the Island.

"Recently" in relative terms. The Qunari regained control of the Island 80 years ago.

Well the term here is "reconquered" as it originally belongs to tevinter. We don't say Tevinter regained control of Kirkwall, we say they recaptured it. Granted Tevinter still have something that is a "in your face" thing. Gods, demons, darkspawn, men, Qunari. None could enter Minratous and we are talking about the oldest human city on Thedas, they had plenty of time to that.
Plus they have been in war for how many years? 80 is a short time. Tevinter probably held it previous for same amount of time.

Seheron originally belongs to the native Seherons. Tevinter conquered it during their golden age and ruled it until the Qunari Wars. They were apparently not able squash Seheron nationalism because the Imperium has no friends there. The inhabitants are currently split between pro-Qunari and anti-Qunari sentiment, but even the anti-Qunari seherons are also anti-Tevinter. Tevinter ruled the island for about 60-70 years after the Llomerryn Accords, but my point was that the Qunari have ruled Seheron long enough for Sten to have conceivably been born and raised there and hence consider it his home. Ergo, the Tevinter invasions he describes would likely be of Seheron and not Par Vollen.

That is about too long ago, Seheron had no government before being a part of Tevinter. It has been under Tevinter control for two thousand years (?) give or take. They had probably built and created many things on that Island. In real life that would automatically mean its a part of the said country now. The native Seherons don't have anything on their own really, I'm not saying they don't deserve to be independent but that's how it is.
The Qunari might permanently capture Seheron, drive all resistance out and build their own. In a feudal-like time that practically means ownership. History of who had first means nothing. This hasn't happened yet however.

Well you were the one who brought up the question of the history of who the island originally belonged to. Tevinter's rule was likely closer to one thousand years, but the natives still consider themselves culturally and ethnically unique and have a desire to be independent from the Imperium.
