Thanks to PurpGuy1 for clarifications. I've noticed this one too last time I played huntress (got back to her since I've learned that 6b affects power damage as well; gotta love those up to 1300 DPS DoTs), but I thought that maybe it's some Warp bug and not a general stacking rule. This is what happened:

- I Dark channel Prime

- Pally Snap cheeses in that general direction

- I warp -> Cryo Explosion

- Pally is busy with something

- I Warp again -> Biotic explosion

So yeah, just another excuse for me to use a-hole pally.

OT: I think I'm gonna try this build. Not sure about 4th evo (reave->sphere still detonates IIRC, so it may be useful against those trying to get in), but otherwise - why not?

Also thanks to those who helped to test and/or clarified mechanical mess ITT. Just one question: is stagger affected by DR somehow or it's just a property of shooting from hard cover?

Stagger resistance is a property of hard cover and is not increased by high damage resistance. Both the batguard and kroguard can stack damage resistance to the point of invulnerability, but both can be staggered. 'Facing' can also give some kits stagger resistance to some attacks, like the prime's drone and being flanked makes you more vulnerable to elbows from Mr.Shields or is dick friend Geth Hunter

Does anyone have a link to where they tested DR for Reave not working on Geth?

I've never had that problem (at least, not that I've noticed) and I've never heard of the bug, before.

EDIT:
I just read the wiki's description of Reave's mechanics and how they work (where the DR effect not activating when it is used against Geth is listed.)

Wow. That is the last time I will ever check the wiki. I identified at least 2 statements about Reave that weren't just wrong, they were laughably, horribly, anyone-who's-played-the-game-would-know-it's-wrong kind of wrong! :o (Mind you, they made no mention of Multiplayer, so they may have been exlusively talking about the SP version of Reave, which was probably balanced for the MP version after the Wiki was written.)

My Justicar leaves no visual indication of DR cs (which is only granted with organics according to the power description, so no dice on Atlases or Turrets either)

I thought the video looked hilariously fun, so I tried this build for a few matches.  My thoughts:

(1)  You lose SO much situational awareness when you take hard cover, so this technique posed problems.  Almost every time I set up my hard cover bubble camp, I quickly got flanked and bad things happened outside my field of view.  I always ended up going back to the trusty old soft cover, RHA tactics to get out of the mess.  The damage reduction does work as advertised, but I see few opportunities where this style will be superior to the more accepted methods.

(2)  I actually had trouble executing this on the Xbox controller.  Popping out of cover is on the left trigger, and reave is on the left bumper.  I use the left index finger on both, and it was therefore impossible for me to cast reave while aiming.  Adjusting my grip (to use my middle finger on the trigger) made me incapable of using the left thumbstick properly, so I ended up reaching around with my right hand to pull the left bumper to cast reave while aiming out of cover.  Awkward, although I know other people might not have this problem.

(3)  I did not have a problem with being "left behind" or sitting only in one place.  It easy to move around and set up the bubble wherever you need to fight.  As stated above though, once you set it up, you lose situational awareness.

(4)  I didn't miss the extra radius on the bubble as much as I thought I would.

Disruptor Ammo/Overload/Whatever do not "overwrite" biotic primers.  They STACK WITH them.  Here is a simple experiment you can do with the Asari Adept:

1- Prime with Warp

2- Shoot Disruptor

3- Throw (detonates Disruptor)

4- Throw (detonates Warp)

Warp did not get "overwritten" by Disruptor.  It was still there.

-------------------------------------------

Here is another example:

1- Prime with Dark Channel

2- Shoot with Disruptor

3- (teammate) Reave (detonates Dark Channel because it does not interact with Disruptor)

Dark Channel did not get "overwritten" by Disruptor.  It was still there.

Teammates who cry about tech powers overwriting their biotic primers just need to adjust their playstyle accordingly.  (Cast detonator twice if it interacts with tech, grats on your 2x explosions)

-------------------------------------------

It works the other way around, as well:

1- Prime with Incinerate

2- (teammate) Dark Channel

3- Overload (detonates Incinerate bcause it does not interact with Dark Channel)

Incinerate did not get "overwritten" by Dark Channel.  It was still there.

They don't cancel but they do over apply and disruptor has no cooldown on reapplication. So if you don't have a long biotic primer you may see far less biotic explosions. Incendiary generally isn't a problem because it has a delay in reapplication to the target. So Disruptor is fine if you're a lone a adept and can manage the applications, etc BUT on a boom squad you're much better off to swap to a different ammo type.

I think Disruptor is supposed to have a check on if the target has been stunned w/i the last couple of seconds.  I don't exactly remember the time in the code, or if it works right. :)

It's best against Geth and on maps where the enemies have a harder time sneaking up on you.

I didn't notice any problems reaving and popping out of cover, and I'm on Xbox too. I use the left middle finger for the trigger, left index for Reave, and left thumb for the thumbstick.

As for situational awareness, the build works best when the team is holding down a position. If your teammates providing flanking support to your left and right, you can take a forward position and tank everything coming in front of you (similar to what was happening during extraction during my video).

I very much like this. Sadly, I don't play it THAT often due to being low on Shield Power Cell IIIs (Geth Trooper, Krogan Soldier/Adept, N7 Destroyer, and this character.)

I've had a lot of pugs moan and whine that I'm not blowing everything in sight up. WELL HEY, if they're just going to run into the arms of the first banshee they see each and every wave, then they can stuff it! I'm stuck soloing after that crap, and if it takes longer, then maybe they should stay alive and help me kill things, so shameless!

That said, I will typically use my huntress instead in a good team that I know will benefit more from simply faster killing.

Slightly off-topic, but for the longest time I just assumed the thread title was "Sugarfree and nearly....." which I thought was weird, and then I actually read it this morning....carry on, nothing to see here
