Nah. I'd rather boil their blood. Make them feel a lot more pain and it'll last longer. A quick death is not what people like that deserve.
Hey, no cruel and unusual punishment. Just end them quickly.

The chevaliers that would rape and kill innocents for sport? Yeah....no. Those that give no mercy to innocents sure as hell don't deserve it from me. So, they get their blood boiled.
Was always a fan of castration.

Could just set their bits on fire.

That would be an interesting dialogue. One of those bad chevaliers plead for mercy and the Inquisitor could be like, "When that *insert victim here* pleaded the same, did you grant it? Then why do you expect different from me?"

I have no mercy or tolerance for people like that.

I see that as vengeance and not justice, so I'm not down for it. But do what you will in your game. ![]()

So what would you do, out of curiosity? Remember they are nobles, so prison isn't an option.

I don't necessarily see it as justice either. I see it merely as a balancing of the scales, a..."reaping what you sow" sort of thing. You inflict pain and death upon innocents, then you got the same coming your way.
So what would you do, out of curiosity? Remember they are nobles, so prison isn't an option.
If they can't/refuse to make amends and/or can't be of use to me, then I'd end them. Quickly.

Yeah, prison wouldn't do anything. They'd be walking right back out in minutes if they don't already pay off the judge/jury/whatever court system they have.

To me, rape is not something that is quick and painless, so I believe they deserve the same torturous fate when they are being killed. I understand you're for justice, but our views of what justice is are very different.

They won't. Their motto is "Death before dishonor" and lowering themselves to make amends to those they see as beneath them would be a huge dishonor.
Ah, okay. I read the book, but whenever I read the word feathers on here I think of GW.
I thought of this.

Every time.
I know exactly what it is. The scene from Sebastian's quest right? That's the second thing I think of.

So you see it as vengeance too? Its just acceptable to you in a case like this? Just curious.

I honestly don't know what you define it as. But in my mind, it means getting a measure of justice or vengeance for those who had been killed or raped by Chevaliers.
That initiation ritual is hardly...Unique to me, and thus i suppose it isn't something that i overly despise.
Perhaps it comes from knowing what it takes to produce superb soldiers, instruments of the Nation.
It comes from being able to kill your own countrymen, Your own people in order to defend them; Perhaps there is some...racial reasoning pushed into it, but if it was Humans would it be so crass to people? They are told to go a location, to find criminals and kill them. The test and its objective is clear, they are given no information besides the location, they must ferret out the guilty and then offer execution.
It's meant to instill the distance that special forces operatives of our own era employ. The American Army Rangers up until 1991 often did black bag ops were they went to area's of heavy anti American sentiment and removed problem individuals in sovereign Nations, Not an initiation in and of it self, given they were already members but the message is the same. You obliterate those who pose risk to the collective good. (I could cite a few cases were erm, Military Operations went into more well known Nations then merely Kuwait or Zimbabwe).
These Knights to me? A Merely a product of that notion, A Crude but necessary reality of the day they live within, to me? They are too much of a potential strength to cast away on some semblance of justice or a notion of setting things right.

I thought the code dealt almost exclusively with socially acceptable noble interaction, I didn't think it said anything about chevailer-peasant interaction, so "lowering themselves" to make amends, I don't know that it has anything to do with the Chevalier's code. I think that's more about social attitudes and about the Chevaliers being above the law. They never have to answer for any crime and that's the real problem.
Well, having read the relevant section, Ser Michel suspects the instructor was lying about any of the elves committing a crime and notes that, even if they did, they have no way of knowing what elf committed the deed. They're given a stiff drink, a sword, and kicked out into the street with instructions to punish the neighborhood in general.. I believe its the random nature of the killings that gets people riled as much as anything else. That initiation ritual is hardly...Unique to me, and thus i suppose it isn't something that i overly despise.

These are the same commoners that the Chevaliers are allowed to use as their playthings. They think they are degrading themselves by treating people they view below them as equal enough to apologize too.

Like i said when it becomes more then just his own musings perhaps i might think more of one Initiate's opinion.
And Its hardly like this is a roaming death squad, its a once a class event that is targeted at criminals.
