While I don't argue, there is a scientific reason for this and it goes beyond maturity.

It's an interesting suggestion but it doesn't disagree with my point, haha.  My point was that learning more about different people with varied backgrounds can really help to open your eyes.  I can see that a limited social circle can lead to a limited view, but that's very much related to immaturity, which in this context I mean to describe a lack of development.  In truth knowing only a few people should be enough because we are all different, but I understand that it can be difficult for some. The alternative is that they are simply asinine on top of being immature.  Also possible.  Likely, even.

You know someone hasn't experienced much of the world when they generalize people.  Any other would know that people are far, far too varied in their reasons and opinions to do so.

 

Generalizing people is inevitable. No matter how intelligent or socially active one is, there are certain patterns which our brain uses to simplify processing all the information it gets. 

Not to mention having a wide variety of acquaintances or visit lots of places to understand the world around. Otherwise the best writers would not extroverts, but introverts

I guess if someone doesn't do the deed and makes one of these 'complain about Cullen' threads once every few weeks, the whole forum implodes or something? I'm trying to rationalize this.

 

imo alert he's about as inoffensive a character as I can even think of.
