i will not

- play as a warrior

- "romance" any NPC

- roll healing spec

- metagame (i always do that, especially with ambiguous dialogue wheels, but i'll try not to)

- play on casual/normal diff

- "side" with anybody

Dialogue wheel was the end of intelligence yet it's considered this brilliant thing... I liked DAO style better... or skyrim. The wheel feels kind of like an idiot's tool.

Light armor should be cool. The downside is that it will likely be butt ugly. Best looking armor I had was either heavy armor or mods in DA2. Light armor and robes looked like they were designed by blind people.

You would think they would put a little more effort into the armor you are wearing. People like to LOOK GOOD.

They should look a little different this time, so it may have improved asthetically. It's possible the Dalish and Vashoth mages start off wearing attire with armor implemented into it, since Merrill's upgraded attire is elven styled white armor, while Vivienne seems to discreetly wear armor under her robes (but I don't know how that will play out via game mechanics). Neither one should have any reason to wear robes like the Circle mages do. I also heard that the warriors and rogues won't be as pinned down on using certain weapons as they were in Kirkwall, although it won't be the same as how hybrid classes are in Skyrim.

The paraphrasing could be incredibly bad, and I often wondered why dialogue I chose lead to a verbal statement that had nothing to do with what I wanted the character to say, such as when I chose for my apostate Hawke to say "You're useless" when speaking to Grand Cleric Elthina, only for Hawke to exclaim "Get out of my way!"

If the game is good enough for me to have multiple playthroughs, there's likely nothing I won't be willing to do at some point.

Yes, the dialogue wheel was even worse because the wheel option didn't always represent the things they said. Sometimes they were more or less hostile or made no sense at all. I think people have even discussed having the wheel option show what your character will say because of this. I don't know if they implemented it, but I've seen it in I think mostly in the ME forums for ME4 discussion. People were quite troubled by this as it would kill their role playing. It really is an epic fail. Either have the character say the lines exactly or don't. I'd rather they went back to old list style with a myriad of option... and don't put hearts next to things that trigger romance. I'll blow it off it it turns out that way but my god I don't want to feel like I'm in sixth grade with glowing hearts on my video game dialogue wheel.

-No Dwarves

-No Rogues

-No females (just can't get into the mindset, personally)

-No evilness (can't stand being a cruel jerk to people)

Inquisition is supposed to show more clearly what the player will verbally say, based on the Crestwood preview, although I prefer the silent protagonist personally (as in New Vegas and Skyrim). As for the 'hearts' next to the romance lines, I believe that's done to avoid players accidentally romancing a character, since a plethora of players noted how Leliana thought she was in a romance with their Warden because of a dialogue line that was chosen.

I probably won't:

* play as a female (at least for my first two playthroughs; I do plan to at least start lady qunari and lady dwarf playthroughs at some point)

* play as a human or elf

* play as a rogue (although, if I do either of the lady playthroughs that I mentioned, one of them might be a rogue just so I can sample the gameplay)

* play as an "evil" or "ruthless" character

* play as a "put the Inquisition's needs above those of the people" character.  I expect to always save the people over my keep.

Other than that, I'm pretty much open to whatever the game has to offer at this point.

so much this...

but i assume hearts are there to warn player about possibly awkward line. everytime i was trying to be friendly to ME2 Jacob - cuz you know, i like the guy, it came out as cheesy pick up line. i facepalmed and reloaded.

still i'd rather choose between actual lines, in DA:O the romance initiators were pretty clear imho.

DAMN YOU, DIALOGUE WHEEL!

- won't play as a dwarf

- won't play as a male vashoth

- won't side with the templars, the chantry or orlais (at least with my canon inquisitor)

- won't kill any companions unless they attack me first

- won't skip any companions

- won't wear those ridiculous hats

I do pretty much everything I can on some playthrough or another.

Although, I've never betrayed my character's 'family' on any playthrough. Which is to say I've never let Meredith kill Bethany when siding with the templars, never massacred Zathrian's clan as Mahariel, used Cyrion in a blood sacrifice or let Vaughn have Shianni as Tabris, etc.

I have done these things on other playthroughs, but not on characters where betraying my family/loved ones is necessary. So anything that amounts to that in Inquisition probably isn't something I'll do.

DAMN YOU, DIALOGUE WHEEL!

This only happened because some of the dialogues that triggered it didn't make sense. Frankly, you can tell these areas were written by men, sort of like how you can tell the whole landsmeet stuff around Alistair romance issues was written by men. Only men could write stuff that would put a woman through that many paces and dump them at every other corner for no logical reason. If a woman were on that writing team, I'd venture to say she was out the days they worked on that stuff or perhaps locked in a closet somewhere.

But of course this from the creators that felt asari was an amazing beautiful female race that could have sex with everyone.... HOW PERFECT! right? yes, that's sarcasm.

These are good ones too.  I definitely recruit all of the companions every time and I never try to kill them.  My first playthrough on ME 2 was a bit rough because I went in blind and didn't know I had to upgrade the ship so I had a few casualties there, but afterwards, I couldn't imagine killing off a companion on purpose.

I note that you'll have a gay romance just for achievement. People really love those damn achievements, don't they?

That's really difficult to tell, since I'll probably try out everything eventually. I'll try anyway:

I probably won't

  • take extremely evil options (the pointless kind that I could never justify without roleplaying my character as a complete psychopath - and I never do that)
  • side with the mages in my first few playthroughs
  • play a blood mage
  • play a lot of mages (they're my least favourite class in the series)
  • play a female qunari mage (too much of a special snowflake for my tastes)
  • start a gay romance with my male Inquisitor
  • miss out on any romance that's available otherwise

That's all I could think of right now. ^^

I will most likely not (as much as the game allows me)

- play as a mutant/xenos

- play as a blood mage

- play therapist for the party (mental and emotional stability are very desirable traits for inquisition personnel, I don't want to have to "fix" them as I go)

- let any extremist go free

- pamper whatever faction with "favors" to get their "permission" to save their posteriors
